Hey guys!

 

I was just wondering, if anyone can tell which AI-modification is better in a way or another? Which one you use or like more?

Why don't you try them both and see what you prefer?  Doesn't take long to test each one.

For now I've used ASR, and yeah and I know its not that much effort to test... I was just asking opinions of these mods.

Have not tested VCOM but ASR I use in all missions. The AI is really good and I especially like how groups work together so as to defeat us players. The way they flank and all. Adrenaline levels go high when you cannot know from where the AI will attack. Before ASR it was a simple head on attack. Nothing much to that. Oh and how they use smoke and grenades too.

 

EDIT: I use ASR in MP primarily.

ASR if you're playing SP, VCOM if MP, and definitely VCOM if you have an AO of a s*ton of OPFOR. Only downside to VCOM I've found (and this may be upside to others) is the use of mortars by OPFOR AI. They use them all the time and it can wipe your whole squad out instantly because they're generally pretty accurate. VCOM goes great with ALiVE too. 

 

Honestly though, I've been running both at the same time for a long time (in SP and non dedicated server only) and I've never had a problem with both running.

Interesting... I'm currently using ASR with ALiVE and can confirm it works without problems, at least for now.

Definetly have to put both at the same to test.

I actually think I may have misspoke, I think I did encounter one issue which was units constantly feeling the need to resupply, which can easily be fixed by disabling it in either/both the ASR/VCOM add-on settings.

I would highly recommend trying v3.2 of VCOM found here - https://github.com/genesis92x/VcomAI-3.0/branches  it's got a lot of nice fixes, and also brings back the very clever driving improvements that were previously a separate mod. It won't be too long until it's released to published version on steam.

Agreed.  I have that very same version running on this mission if you want to try it.  It's also got the dynamic static groupings as well so it will take advantage of VCOM utilizing troops carrying static gun bags.
