Hey Haz, that was very creative man.

 

Question:  In this case, what is the "texture" object that you attached to the helicopter?  I understand that this object was set to the icon texture first, but I think your example is missing a step?

it did but i just checked (using animationNames) and sadly it doesn't look possible. Pretty sure the seats in hummingbird can be removed so the same model can be used for the Pawnee! on the plus side the hummingbird would make a decent medivac chopper with the side benches and the back seats ripped out.

At least there is this option , but sinse there is such a parameter available , it might be this possible for other models as well ?

my understanding is things have to be defined as animation during model building phase or they can't be changed using animation source, sadly the hummingbird model is the only heli i've found this evening where the benches come out :(

This seems like a nice way but I think there maybe one problem, the texture object probably cant follow the surface of the heli? The surface on the heli is fairly round and not flat so it might be hard (or impossible) to place it properly

You can use instead then any other 3d object with curves like the shooting plates or something.

Yeah i think this too,  I never knew about texture objects and stuff which is very cool but here I think your textures work good... though i must say, shouldn't that red cross be a bit fatter, it looks a bit like the flag of England? ;)

lol yeah probably but I already gave up this idea because the .paa size is 1.3 mb which makes my mission much bigger download.

If you do it as HazJ and you just retuxtere a small thing like a shooting plate then it wan't be that big.

You could also seach for attaching something that looks like that  !

But the problem like said before is that the texture wouldn't align to the helicopter model
