Massive 122x122klm South Asia terrain from "Take On Helicopters" ported to Arma 3 version 1.3 
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 - No Errors!!!

 - Changed some textures to better suit  the Satmap.

 - Enhanced clutter,Insects,Dust Efx,Haze efx.

 - Enhanced "Take on Helicopters" Weather.

 - Uses A3 lighting and sky.

-SATMAP texture for in cockpit view.

 - Now has call to prayer,Arabian radio music and Arabian market Sound SFX added from Takistan.They are found in 
   the Sfx sounds in triggers.

 - There is quite a few objects added in the editor in the South Asia section that are in the data Pbo's from 
   Take on Helicopters.

 - Vegetation objects have been added in the editor in the South Asia section for mission makers.

 - Objects in 3d editor are only partially supported.Feedback still welcome.:)

 - This terrain focuses on aircraft and large scale missions.

 - Roads are painted so AI dont follow them the same as in Arma terrains.Extra waypoints are required for ground 
   vehicles.

 - Water areas are painted and are purely visual.

- Custom Multiplayer and singleplayer missions to come!!

 - Concrete runway,taxiway and parking areas have been added in the 3d editor.Found in the South Asia section.

 - Comes with an Airbase Template Mission that has concrete runways,taxiway,parking areas and lighting already laid 
   out ready to use.
   Mission is unpbo'ed in the Missions folder in your South Asia v1.3 ANZACSAS mod directory.

 - There are nine pictures inside the island Pbo so that they can be used for overview pictures

on a Server in Multiplayer missions.

 - re-introduced data texture for Seattle core.
 - re-introduced airport files/pieces for Seattle core.

Nice to finally see this map released standalone. 

 

Can't wait to try it out with my new ACM cohorts.

Took a look yesterday, really interesting (obvious appeal for jets but not too shoddy as a combined arms map) and a horrendously large download. Couple of thoughts;

 

1. Would it not be better to make CUP a dependency and flesh-out/override their dummy config classes? Saves on downloading duplicated assets and means the map would benefit from all CUP object upgrades. And if you reach the point where you consider it done or are tired of maintaining it they'd probably be quite happy then to incorporate it.

 

2. Don't know if you're in a position to edit the height field but it would be cool to see the river carved out some and have the sea level set to fill it.

@Defunkt,Thanks for your interest.:)

 

The file size is due to the terrain being 10 times the size of normal terrains.The hi res textures for a map this size makes for big file size.No way around it.

The objects are only a small fraction of the total size.

I had a go at coding out the dummy entries from CUP but i was still getting texture issues and other graphical errors.

The problem is the objects in used in south asia are from a complete different directory etc.Even with CUP loaded this terrain is looking for models of a slight different name.

I just need some help with swapping the models and changing file paths.Iam not a modeller or tex guy.I would like to use the arma2/cup objects for their interiors and rename them,change file paths etc.

 

The terrain is coded to be 3200m above sea level.Also the river is flowing downstream so adding in water would flood almost all the low lying areas and still leave the majority of the water areas still above water level.

Digging is almost impossible, a very large map so that the grid can have detail of the edges of the water.


Water that flows down could be with ponds but they are really problematic and easy to bug.

We will have to settle for being an aerial map, or small incursions located with LZ in helicopter.

Just to let you guys know, Jove Chiere has decided to re- upload my work without permission.I spent a long time ironing out the bugs so please everyone dont support this behavior.

Note, he has added roads that are broken at best and cause CTD's.

Yeah i did m8.It looks pretty good but the skyscrapers are a different model format i think.Ill have to seek some help with getting them in game.I might just upload with the skyscrapers not being visible if i have to.

If theres any 3d model guys out there who wanna get involved with the skyscrapers please contact me!!

What do you mean by that? Last time I checked, all 3d models in ToH were .p3d format.

I went looking for a Seattle ToH conversion before asking here, and saw that someone else was trying to do it but was having issues with the buildings/skyscrapers not having reflections. Maybe it's something along those lines.

Unless you have specific evidence that your work is being uploaded, I don't see the drama here, why can't two similar projects share the same forum/workshop space. It's no different than, for example, the various versions of Chernarus(Redux, Isles, 2035) that co-habit the Workshop. From what I can see both projects have differing feature sets.

Jove chiere was supposed to be helping and so i gave him a copy of my work so far.Thats what hes uploaded.You can compare work if you guys wish.

Excuse me but I never received a copy of your work, that is a falsehood.

As I can read in the BI forum or also in the threads of the Workshop mod before you deleted them, I was trying to help you improve this map, both by creating higher quality images (such as the presentation map) or the roads.
But speaking in Steam's chat we did not agree on how the map mod should be evolved. So as I said "let's separate our paths".

It is when I resume my old project of the map mod of South Asia. And that's when you started accusing me and harassing me.

I'm just going to give you a detail... in STEAM I have images long before you published the MOD flying through South Asia. What appeared, by magic?

Can you explain how I create the cover image? Can you explain how roads are created? Can you explain how Seattle buildings are arranged? Publish your version of what I have allegedly stolen!
