thebuckfastwine 1229 Posted August 28, 2018 This is the third and final project I am working on alongside my Welcome to Glasgow and my Bohemia Interactive Studios, this project will be for Iron front for Arma 3 by .kju and has been extremely emotional to build. The first section is done with over 3300 hand placed graves each grave is placed with great care and consideration in the correct position as it is in real life as is the whole area(Omaha 144 map) if anyone has family or friends grave info I will lay a flower on their grave as a mark of respect. the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial is the burial site of 9,387 US military personnel who fought and died in World War Most of the graves at the Normandy American Cemetery belong to participants in the Normandy Landings on 6 June 1944 also known as D-Day D-day landing map Overlooking Omaha Beach, the launching point of the U.S. invasion of Normandy, this cemetery contains the graves of 9,386 American soldiers who died at Normandy and a touching memorial to another 1,557 whose bodies were never recovered The Garden of the Missing. the names of 1,557 Americans who lost their lives in the Normandy campaign but could not be located and/or identified are inscribed on the walls of a semicircular garden at the east side of the memorial. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France is located in Colleville-sur-Mer, on the site of the temporary American St. Laurent Cemetery, established by the U.S. First Army on June 8, 1944 as the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II. An older video still hard-hitting and emotional none the less. Where once there was war now there is peace now, a time to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. thebuckfastwine 1229 Posted August 28, 2018 @jezathanks, if you have any pictures that would be great, I'm trying to get it as real as I can possibly get it. @Vvalerie2 thanks, that's my thinking about this project to have it as a virtual museum as I'm sure there are many war veterans and families who can't make the trip to France and would love to see old friends and loved ones one last time and it was my pleasure to add the Bushlurker statue too he was an instrumental part of this great community and has inspired many people including myself to better themselves. jeza 5415 Posted August 29, 2018 over a decade since iv been there but visually what stood out was the immaculate green grass, odd thing to remember but was one of the visuals i took.
