Welcome to Glasgow, Scotland. This a project very close to my heart I spent many a happy day in and around the area when I was young and still visit to this day the area is BAE systems on the river Clyde, Govan and the Scoutson area and supports many hard-working families throughout the area. Section20 will be helping me along the way he will be working on the Lesmuir road area, I hope everyone can enjoy my great city of Glasgow as a world first of modern-day Glasgow in a computer game. Big thanks goes out to Jay crowe and Karel Mořický for picking up on Glasgow before it became an official project. Now to the pictures.

This looks amazing. Something you don't see very often in Arma so a great addition. Not to mention that those ships just look amazing in the docks.

Thanks, I watched those ships being launched and worked on at the BAE systems docks they are the Batch 2 River-class OPVs class for the royal navy. they are from the excellent Brazilian armed forces mod.

Just spectacular!

The finer details are very accurate, possibly the first map I won't get lost in. :icon14:

If I had one suggestion, build the Crane....the skyline's not the same without it.

Thanks, You know I was thinking about that crane too and was torn about adding it or not cause its gone now in real life it was such an iconic thing for the area as a whole.

Looks great mate.

But wouldn't it look more realistic with EO's Sullen Skies mod?

Thanks, and yes it would but I'm saving EO's super fantastic Sullen skies for a traditional Scottish cloudy murky day.

One of my favourite European cities for Arma! You’ve managed to capture the unique Glasgow atmosphere with some simple and effective modelling choises. Really great work.

Nicely done Bucky.

The work done by Thebuckfastwine is beyond amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice. The area around the docks had me full on de ja vu to a real world location.

The city itself will be big, like mahoosive big and you'll be wanting to hail a virtual taxi to get about the place.

When you add in some grey skies and rain it could just be like the real city.

There is a lot of work ahead for us, especially as we're going for as close a match to the reality as we can get, using the assets available.

Working on this has had me gain a whole new appreciation for the map makers of the Armaverse.

I doff my hat to you all.

I'll help keeping this topic updated as well, with pics as we go along.

I'm working on the Anniesland Rd/Lesmuir drive area for anyone with a bit of local knowledge.

And one of my favourite things to do, is make gardens. But it does make me feel awkard, as I sneak about everyones back gardens like some youngter

playing Commando. (A scottish game involving running through peoples back gardens, jumping fences and avoiding washing lines and generally being a wee naff :icon_biggrin:  )

We'll try and post regular updates and keep everyone up to date with whats going down in G town.

Damn it's really crazy how you get so much detail into this stuff, I think it's fair to say you've got a bit of an eye for this stuff :P

But I mean... Glasgow? Jokes
