In the old days it was due to the need for aircraft to throw against the Red's. The Hawks can still be used for Point Defense with a pair of 9L's strapped to 'em. The two seaters don't have to fly with two pilots in a time of combat, but it always helps to have an extra pair of hands. The workload in a Harrier gets quite high when your trying to toss LGB's and fly! And if you'l excuse me, there's a 7 hour A Team special on UK Gold.... Woohoo!
