by

GEORGE FLOROS [GR]

Description:

GF Use Every Uniform , a simple example on how to.
You are free to do anything but i would like to give me Credits for this!
Simple and easy to use and adapt .
Have Fun !

Installation / Usage:

For usage instructions and information of how to use the GF Use Every Uniform,  please refer to the included documentation and/or example mission.

Place in your mission the files . There is everything included , in the example mission , to copy paste in your mission .

https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/SQF_syntax
Don't try to open this with the simple notepad.

For everything that is with comment  //  in front  or between /*
means that it is disabled , so there is no need to delete the extra lines.

You can open this ex:
with notepad++
https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

and also use the extra pluggins
(this way will be better , it will give also some certain colours to be able to detect ex. problems )
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8680

or use any other program for editing .

For the Compilation List of my GF Scripts , you can search in:
https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/215850-compilation-list-of-my-gf-scripts/

Notes:

It is just a simple example ,how to be able,
to use every Uniform , from every side.
You have to put a Civilian in the editor
and then link him with another AI ,
from the desired side.
You can copy the example (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) to your mission.
It's working with every addon.

I created this example mission , because i have been asked many times about it.

The civilians can wear everything.

You can change them to any Side ( slot )

and give a role description.

When you link one with the desired side  ex: Blufor ,

then in the role description at the lobby (this is before you enter the mission ) will be in the Blufor slot as well.

The mission is a Vanilla ex. with arsenal available in order to check any mods.

There is also a different solution from @pierremgi

WEAR WHAT YOU WANT

I feel like this is going to cause other issues later on... Also, what is difference between this or @pierremgi's one? Except the author?

In fact, you have choice between:

- a smart method, like George said: you place civilians, you choose any loadout, you group them to a WEST or EAST unit, then you erase this unit. The former civilians keep their new side but they stay with their native civilian side for such uniform interaction (configFile >> "cfgVehicles" >> typeOf player >> "side").

- a script working on any player's side, waiting for inventory opening and allowing this feature for uniform.

If your mission is already built, and you don't want to (or you can't) manipulate the existing units in editor (The first method needs to change all players for civilian units then modify their loadout), so the second approach is OK. This script is supposed to become an addon (when I have time), so you could use that on any mission (if addon friendly).
