Siege-A 4054 Posted April 14, 2018 Assets seen in these images are just a sample of what is included, NOT the entire content! Everything shown is still work-in-progress, NOT the final content! Details: USP Gear & Uniforms v0.7.0 This mod is composed of the following components: USP_Gear_Acc (Accessories; GPS, wristmap, etc) USP_Gear_Body (Uniforms; pretty much just uniforms) USP_Gear_Core (Core; required by all modules to function) USP_Gear_Face (Facewear; shades, balaclavas, cool stuff, etc) USP_Gear_Head (Headgear; helmets, caps, etc) USP_Gear_Nvg (You guessed it) USP_Gear_Pack (Backpacks; mostly stuff that goes on the back) USP_Gear_Vest (Body armor; everything from lightweight chest rigs to full plate carriers.) USP_Objects (Editor placeable objects) Each module is standalone, and only requires the USP_Gear_Core (included) to function. Required Addons: None Signed: Yes, Server Key included Overview: I'll try to keep this brief. Overall, this mod has been long in the making, even before any progress pics started popping up for it. I've owned and played the whole Arma series, back to OFP, and remained a pretty dedicated fan since the start. Never did anything more than play with scripting and develop missions/scenarios up until Arma 3, which is when I first decided to really get into modding. Started out small, messing around with patches and markers, and then I began playing with retextures as a first step into working on a full units/gear mod. Got good and far along with that, but never really mentioned it or made a release since I have a bad habit of always wanting to pack in more before going public. Then I met Hawaiian (Will) and he taught me everything he could. Started messing with models, building up the foundation for a gear mod with what I could from A2 assets. Eduardo (Carlos) right by my side from the beginning, always pushing me and encouraging progress, doing everything he can to learn and help where possible. Enter OMA, the team modeller with incredible talent, shit explodes from there. So now we have this here, a gear pack that is steadily expanding to create as much authentic assets as we can...or until we get bored. Including tons of variety, hiddenSelections, various camo/texture patterns, and the largest collection of vests/plate carriers available. Why? Because we like creating new things and adding as much variety as we can to the game. I'll update everything with more info soon, mainly just wanted to get the thread up so I can stop posting unrelated things to the Rangers thread. Current Assets: As always, everything shown here is WIP and subject to change. Somes items still aren't shown yet, so this list will be updated as new assets are added. Accessories: Spoiler Facewear: Spoiler Headgear: Spoiler NVG: Spoiler Packs: Spoiler Uniforms: Spoiler Vests: Spoiler Future Assets: Everything. No but seriously, we have a pretty lengthy list of 'planned' assets, but that's not to say all of them will get done. We're constantly adding to the list so we'll just see how much gets completed in the end. Just to name a few items, we have things like balaclavas, shemaghs, coveralls, beards, amphibious gear, para gear, and much more in the planning. May create a more solid list of our future-plans as we get further along, so stay tuned. FAQ: Q: When will this mod be released? ETA? A: The mod is already released. Q: Do you take requests? A: Absolutely. Not that we will accept all requests, but definitely consider them. Q: Is there any focus or direction that is planned for the gear? US only? A: Not entirely, pretty much adding anything that interests us for the most part. Q: Why make so many assets that have already been done before? A: Well to make an all-in-one gear pack, it's what we all want right? Q: Any plans to work on weapons or vehicles at some point? A: Details will be revealed when its time. Q: How are you able to pump out new asset models so fast? A: The Dream Team© Q: Will this mod be made open-source so assets can be used in other projects? A: Possibly upon request. wansec_6 199 Posted April 14, 2018 Really looking forward to this. Good to see some Aussie content from Plat-a-tac. Keep up the good work.
omL 24 Posted April 14, 2018 Interested to see how the PSQ-20 turns out. Do you think you'll be able to get a realistic enough representation of what a user would see IRL?

Do you think you'll be able to get a realistic enough representation of what a user would see IRL? I don't think NV and FLIR fusion is possible in A3 but heck, who knows I hope there is a god-amongst-men out there who can make it happen
[VW]Wrath 63 Posted April 14, 2018 Heroic, it all looks beautiful, cannot wait to play dress up! Much love to you guys for your hard work and dedication!

You can thank Lennard for that one. But on that note, we aren't planning to only focus on US based gear...so can definitely expect to see some broader coverage overtime. 1 hour ago, omL said: Interested to see how the PSQ-20 turns out. Do you think you'll be able to get a realistic enough representation of what a user would see IRL? I'm definitely gonna try everything I know to give the NVG's a realistic interface. If I can't successfully accomplish it, I'll seek help and see if anyone out there can assist with this. Surely the PSQ-20 would be a challenge, representing the NV and thermals, but we will definitely try. To everyone else, thank you for the comments, it is very much appreciated and keeps us motivated to continue making progress.
FZE 14 Posted April 14, 2018 Hi guys! first of all I just to congratulate you all for your work! Since you guys are open to requests here goes mine: Are you considering doing some Uk Cammos (WoodDPM/DesertDPM)? I think it would be a nice addition since there´s allot of US in Arma community but not so many UK forces like SAS/SBS etc... Thank you

British forces is something that we've been very interested in expanding on for just the reason you mentioned. So personally, I'm hoping to provide any assets that relate to them in DPM and MTP variants. And most gear will be fully open to community retextures in case certain other patterns aren't included. 5
Siege-A 4054 Posted April 15, 2018 Okay, now that we're pretty well situated, back to business. Here we are with a preview of the GPNVG-18 flipped up:
wsxcgy 1960 Posted April 15, 2018 this is frickin wild. amazing work here. its really cool to see the IOTV, IMTV and ISPC, was not expecting those. makes me wonder about some of the more OG regular forces gear like the original MTV and OTV. and I can't even think of any other plate carriers worth mentioning except like maybe the tt fight light or the bae rbav, though I have a feeling sahio, the absolute madman, will come up with something anyways. this is one hell of a project here and though there's a long road ahead, but it'll be well worth the effort and well worth the wait. this is going to knock everything else out of the water.
Victruso 179 Posted April 15, 2018 Bruh. BRUH. BRUH. 3 words- Private. Military. Contractors. That's all I can see man, every one of em kitted out, ready to rock it in Chenarus, Zargabad, Altis, wherever. And that one guy in the back with the RPG on his back and the .308 rifle in his arm dressed like a bush. It's gonna be a reality man, all this new gear is gonna bring in so much variety.

I'm pretty sure you would have a hard time finding pictures of war fighters wearing a mask under their nose like that in real life.

On 4/15/2018 at 12:33 PM, Alex150201 said: It's not just an arma thing The one in the pic that we're currently using is from the Rangers mod, created by Adacas. We already have plans to create some newly modeled balaclavas, just haven't gotten around to it yet, so these are more or less placeholders for now. I agree with both sides of the argument, they are definitely seen more in police/law enforcement than military use. So in the end, we will keep this style included, but also have newer ones on the way. I went ahead and did some adjustments on this one for a temporary fix for now. I messed around a bit with the PSQ-20 model, getting it scaled/positioned, as well as some other items. There is alot of things about this pic that are incorrect, so keep in mind this was only to get certain things scaled correctly...they will be fine tuned afterwards. Still gotta make a cover for the fasthawk, get the ratchet strap on the helmet adjusted correctly, arc adapters adjusted, etc etc. One more important thing that I wanted to mention to everyone, we have set up a Patreon donation page for Sahio and would like to share a bit of info on that. The account is directly tied to Sahio, and all donations will go to him solely. He is a young guy with a strong future ahead of him, and currently being unemployed, things are a struggle for him. This is his goal in life, and his passion, so he spends the majority of his time creating models, not only for this project, but also his own personal works. The guy is willing to bring anything we can dream of into a possibility in Arma, and all that he asks is a little support to help him continue making all of this possible. As always, donations aren't required, and is fully at your own discretion...but it would make a hell of a difference to someone that it could help. I chose not to take any portion of the money earned for myself, as I'm currently in a decent living situation, career, wife/kids, and have always treated this as a hobby, nothing more. But for him this is more than just a hobby, it's a career path, and I'm willing to support him as much as I can. For anyone interested in having a look, I will provide a link here and update the OP with it. Thanks.

wsxcgy 1960 Posted April 15, 2018 it also depends on why you're wearing the balaclava. in alaska where you probably want to avoid losing your nose to the cold, theres a good chance you are going to have the balaclava up for the sake of keeping warm and fending off frostbite. in germany or something where you're a counter-terrorism specialist and you want to avoid having your identity exposed and your family murdered, theres a good chance you are going to have the balaclava down for the sake of concealment (or just looking cool) without obstructing the airway.
