How to make AI patrol switch to a reinforce waypoint?

Hi

Something I probably should have asked about years ago when I was making missions - it's been a question for years.

Here's the scenario.

I have a small patrol set on several 'Move' way points with a 'Cycle' way point them so they follow same path repeatedly.

Meanwhile, several hundred meters away and out of LOS, friendlies start engaging with enemies.

I want the patrol to cancel their current cycling way points and head straight over to investigate/provide support.

 

How do I do this?

Pretty easy to do using small script snippets, in the editor with waypoints I guess you can add a guard waypoint after the cycle waypoint, and link the cycle waypoint to a switch trigger or whatever it's called nowadays.

Make a trigger, set its type to skip waypoint and activation whatever you want (set waypoint activation too). It will break the cycle and proceed to next wp.
