Detect if Certain AI Unit Gets a Kill?

Hello, from what I'm reading I will need to understand eventhandlers to get this done, but it seems so simple that I just feel there must be an easier way and I'm missing it somewhere.  Example, I have an AI Jet named "plane".  I would like to make a condition of if plane kills a person of the enemy side then I would addscore to another unit.  I've got the addscore down, just cannot figure for the life of me how to detect if a certain ai unit gets a kill.  If I need to do this with eventhandlers, I'm sure I can figure it out just hoping there would be an easier script command to use.  Any help is much appreciated :-)

Okay, so using an eventhandler is indeed the only way to get this done.  Got it.  Thank you very much for the response, Pierremgi.
