How about something that is a Virtual World.. Think something like Second Life with GUNS. Where the map is larger and your Clans actually do duties, along the WW2 Online kind of thing. All those bells and whistles are great but limiting MP like they do know is old school. Look at EVE online, out for years, and the clans act as Brigades would in Arma.. Then for example the US Forces have a base, the UK guys have thiers, all working together, with REDFOR having the same capibilities.

I'm going to reiterate my request that helicopter passengers can, where suitable, use small arms to engage targets whilst on the move, as I feel this is FAR too important for BI to miss out.

This is bread and butter for modern (SOF) operations. Further, imagine the diversity it lends to the game in terms of options for mission editors;

-Taking out a vehicles driver/tyres on a HVT capture raid (remember some of the opening scenes of Black Hawk Down? "Single shot through the engine block!")

-Taking out a speedboat/skiff engine during Anti-Piracy ops

-Covering a hostage rescue mission from the air

-Taking out light aircraft without using jets

- Taking out suicide bombers in a crowd of people

- Escorting a vehicle convoy in urban terrain.

The options are limitless; ShackTac showed how it was possible, and used to to great effect on many of their MP missions; go watch some of the videos of their online play. Absolutely awesome stuff, with a simple addition to the game.

I'm also going to suggest that dropping guys into water from 5m or so should carry no damage with it whatsoever; imagine how cool it would look flying low and slow as combat divers dropped off the planks of a Littlebird or MH47E...

That all sounds good to me!

I'd also like to request that the MH-6 and AH-6 Little Birds are in-game, as their maneuverability, small size, and payload are extremely important, and would lend themselves well to special operations in-game.

If a system was implemented that allowed for accurate modelling of IEDs, as well as a system to counter those IEDs with EOD Techies in the field, the game would have a very high level of danger, even from simple travel. As an example of how it may work, lets say we have someone create an IED from various materials (say, an unexploded artillery shell & a cell phone), capable of going off from a cell phone. He sets this IED up as a nasty trap for our trusty team of allied soldiers, leaving it on the side of a known patrol route.

But, this squad has an EOD Techie with them. And this EOD Tech has a short range signal jammer, specifically to protect against radio-detonated IEDs. So, this squad finds this IED on the side of the road, backs off a safe distance, and uses a method of disposal for the "D" in EOD. There would be multiple methods of disposal, such as with an anti-material rifle (M107), a C4 pack placed directly on the IED (if the Tech knew it was radio activated), or perhaps a robot designed specifically to defuse explosives if he didn't, and didn't have access to an anti-material rifle.

You could also make pressure activated IEDs (for infantry, vehicles, or both), or time-fused IEDs.

I feel as though this system would definitely add another layer of realism, and also provide some tactical choices. If, for example, the number of potential EOD Techs per team were limited to, say, six, which squads would you attach them to? Would you place them in a squad in an urban environment, where IEDs have been used in the past, or the the convoy travelling through the mountains?

Anyway, just my wish for things.

Two things I would really like to see (if they haven't already been implemented)

1: Allow modders customize reload animations, and make better ones. IMHO, I don't see why, for instance, Battlefield 2 mods (a game which is pushing a decade) should have very realistic reload animations while arma 3 and mods leave so much to be desired

2: Different magazine models. The weapon customization right now is a cut above a lot of games out there, but one thing that can break immersion is the absence of different magazines. When you put a Beta C-mag into an M4, it should look like an M4 with a beta c-mag, not an M4 with a STANAG magazine that magically holds 100 rounds.

Anyone remember 'Joint Operations'?

I ask because it had a nice way to spot snipers (anyone using a scope).

Here is the idea:

When someone is looking through a scope there would be an occasional small flash at their position as if the sun were reflecting on the glass. This would be visible for someone looking carefully in the general area.

I know modern scopes are designed not to do this but its a nice mechanic to help spot snipers and it can still happen. Otherwise you will have games that turn into sniper camp-fests.

I for one would HATE to see that - if you cant see the sniper, you cant see him - as per the real world. His position wouldnt be betrayed by a glinting "strobing" optic lense if his rifle is set up to prevent it. Snipers for the most part are highly-trained professionals who are masters of their art, including camouflage. I have never known games turn into "sniper camp-fests" - sniping is too difficult in the game to make it "impossible" to escape from them.

However, if you are talking about a pair of binoculars/spotting scope that hasnt been correctly rigged up, then yes, glinting is a good shout.

Battlefield has it. This ain't Battlefield. It's just not that realistic. Game balances itsself. In case you haven't noticed, it's not easy at all to kill someone thats standing still from a big distance with a sniper rifle. And it requires even more skills to shoot one that's moving.

why don't the developers incorperate future weapons technology. like for instance airburst ammunition for vechicle weaponry

i tink when you do this it will give players an idea of whats possible within the next decade of weaponry

I shouldn't have to ask for this...

Can you please reduce vertical recoil when crouched.

(each stance should be gradually lower relative to standing)

You are in a more stable position so as well as reduced sway you can control recoil better.

At the moment its wrong to have the same recoil effect when standing and crouched.

I think this game would do great with a game-mode such as Horde mode or Wave Mode.

Basically, the player will be in a confined area with the rest of the map blocked off by a guardian or an invisible wall. The player would have to work together with his/her teammates to protect the area from hostile enemies (Tanks, troops, etc.)

There could even be objectives on some maps where the players can't just sit and defend but, have to run out to collect certain material that could change the outlook of the Wave (Radar Jam, EMP, Ammo drop, etc.)

in the "adjustmode" the sit back movement should be backward arrow button and not forward, seems to me more plausible. or is there a way to rebind it? in some positions the arrow keys are also a bit strange set(?) (forward is leaning/rolling etc.)

and btw: i think, turning in "sit mode" should be animated more "detailed" (especially the feet). at the moment it also looks a bit strange. there could also be a lean move in this mode :D

A very small animation for opening doors would be great. :)

ok, the ghillie suits are sweet but they could be so much better. heres how I would love to see it happen but the suit would have to be divided into a few parts, but hear me out.

  1. hat
  2. vest
  3. uniform
  4. backpack

the hat would obviously cover the head like a hood or a boonie with cammo on it. the vest would only cover the torso, only back would be ok like most snipers. the uniform would be a regular uniform top with ghillie pants. and the bag would also have ghillie cammo attached to it. now lets think about this. if the player puts on the ghillie vest, his torso is covered and he can choose to wear a regular uniform to leave his legs normal. he adds the uniform and his whole body is ghillie'd up. adds the hat to cover his head and his bag is covered in ghillie too. anyways, i hope they do it like this, would allow for people to use them really uniquely i think.

so far the only thing id want to see improved is the weather system... it needs to be more violent at times, massive storms and waves should have an impact with the way boats, helicopters, jets handles
