Beretta 92 billennium

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get a hold of a Beretta 92 Billennium.

Does anyone know someone who has one and want to sell it?

Used or not used does'nt matter (unless it is worn out, which I hardly doubt)

Only 2000 made. Not easy to find confused.gif

I don't see why Shadow would have to justify his reasons for wanting a Billenium, or if and how he is going to make use of it.

Sheesh...

other than the chrom finish does this model have any kind of difference compared to the standard beretta?

nah... it's std 92F..grip seems a bit different, and cuts/slices/whatchamacallit on the slide is a bit different, but that cosmetic difference is only difference.

Its alot more than "just a different look" and "grip seems a bit different, and cuts/slices/whatchamacallit on the slide is a bit different, but that cosmetic difference is only difference".

The biggest difference between a standard 92-series and a Billennium is the inside of the gun. I'm not even sure my 15-round mags from my 92FS works with a Billennium.

From Beretta

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Steel frame, carbon fiber grips, frame-mounted safety, a crisp and precise trigger pull, interchangeable sights and micro adjustable rear sight, the oversized magazine button and an innovative slide grip area give this pistol a unique level of performance.

The luxurious finish, stunning engraving and attractive carrying case offer a synthesis of technology and collection at its best.<span id='postcolor'>

Since so many wonder why I want one...

I own a blued Beretta 92FS and I am a member of a pistol-club. I shoot at targets, poppers etc, not humans.

Most of the reasons I want a Billennium is the improvements you can read about in the above quote. The main reason is that there are only 2000 made and it has a steel frame. All other Beretta pistols have a alloy-frame.

i'd say you can use your magazine from 92FS. it says 'oversized magazine button', not 'oversized magazine'.

Ralph is correct, the Billenium is supposed to accept regular 92 magazines.

I were'nt refering to the mag-release-button when thinking about the mag-sizes. I was wondering if my old mags would work or not. For all I know Beretta could have moved the inside part of the release-switch further up or down etc. smile.gif

I know very well how that switch works (I flipped mine over to the right side, I'm left-handed) wink.gif

Now all I need to do is get all kinds of papers in order before I start bidding on that auction PHEEEW  wow.gif

'Bout the norwegian laws for gun-control:

The law say I'm not allowed to have two guns of the same caliber, however a letter explaining you need a backup weapon for competition-use usually does the trick. But the higher the caliber we're talking about the harder it is to get your licenses approved. It usually is no problem when requesting an additional .22 or a 32./7,65mm but a .38 or a 9mm and upwards is usually very difficult to get approved if you already own one.

Guns are extremely expensive in Norway too sad.gif

I was thinking about starting rifle-shooting, but the moment I heard the price for my fav rifle I stop thinking about it ~30.000,-NOK for a G36

Some other rifles I like:

Steyr AUG : ~15.000,-NOK

G3: you're not getting it approved in Norway

SIG SG-551: ~20.000,-NOK

HK94: ~10.000,-NOK (an MP5 with longer barrel)

Here's the fun part:

You won't get an MP5 approved in Norway LOL biggrin.gif

oh and full-auto is a no-no GRRRR crazy.gif

Atleast we don't have that silly max-mag-capacity over here.

Makes me wonder if I can get a extended 30-round mag for my Beretta withstupid.gif

A PSG1 costs around $10,000.

Or you can buy a 22. for $70

I prefer PSG1s myself

A PSG1 costs around 10.000$ over here too (~100.000,-NOK)

I paid 350$ for my Browning Buckmark .22 and 700$ for my 92fs

But when you think about it , its not really the pistols that cost that much......its all that other equipment for it.

Over here ammo cost a fortune so you better buy good reloader. I bought a Dillon 550 (~300$wink.gif.

Then there's the die-set and the empty cartridges and the powder and the bullets and the primers and the tumbler and the media-separator and the eye-protection and the ear-protection and the spare mags and ammo-boxes and so on (a never-ending list) sad.gif

Lets see...

To get a handgun in Canada, here is what I have to do:

1) Take an approved gun handling course

2) Get a government issued license

3) Have no criminal record

4) Buy the gun

5) Store it safely

6) Shoot at a local gun club

7) Repeat step 6 as needed

Wow. The Canadian Government sucks! They want to make sure I am competent to own a gun before giving me one! How dare they try to ensure that it will be handled properly and be accounted for!

You know..before putting your mouth in gear, you might want to engage your brain.

Thats a sweet looking handgun, Shadow. But is the steel frame worth the HUGE premium you are likely to pay?

and heres what to do in the UK to get one not that i`d actually want one at the moment other than out of prinicple.

1. find shady guy in shady place

2. gain money from underhand dealings

3. use money to buy gun from local drug barons

4. fire gun as many times before being caught and sent off to jail

5. goto 1

The Billenium has a micro-adjustable rear sight and a trigger with adjustable over-travel. It also has additional serrations and stipling on the frame and slide to improve the grip and handling.

These features would be quite desireable in a gun used for tactical shooting, either in competitions (IPSC or similar) or defensive situations.
