blackdog~ 0 Posted November 23, 2002 I was thinking while playing with deadsoldier's F15... now we need an ejection seat. It would be quite simple to make, just model an ejection seat and when a person ejects... the ejection seat will be part of a parachute model and the person would be sitting down
Eviscerator 0 Posted November 23, 2002 is that how it works though? i was under the impression the seat detached when it was clear of the aircraft, so the pilot is like he is in ofp, as landing on your arse cant be good....
blackdog~ 0 Posted November 23, 2002 I'm not sure how exactly one works... good point though.
Jamesia 0 Posted November 23, 2002 I think that the ejection that is currently in Operation Flashpoint is fine... blackdog, on closer inspection of your sig, are those nazi flags behind Bill Gates?
Scorpio 0 Posted November 23, 2002 When the pilot ejects, the canopy blows off and the pilot jumps with the ejection seat 200-300 metres(depending on which plane it is) up into the air. Then the ejection seat dettaches and bails towards the ground. The pilot is left there with his parachute. Here's an F-16 ejection seat i made some time ago... The 3-bar handle there activates the ejection. If it would be the correct process, then the ejection would have to be made through a script i think.
VXR 9 Posted November 23, 2002 about the sig it are not Naziflags, ive seen a very big wallpapaer of that pic with bill gates with flags on the background and it were logos of microsoft
blackdog~ 0 Posted November 24, 2002 Yeah, it would have to attach it to the player continually, then drop off, which might either make a really nice effect or provide lots of lag for the player
Spiz14 0 Posted November 24, 2002 ofp really needs an ejection seat because when you are flying at low altitudes and you eject, your parachute opens at the last second and you hit the deck like a sack of shit.
blackdog~ 0 Posted November 24, 2002 Occasionally on planes, you can eject at low altitudes and be shot up into the air as if you had an ejection seat... but I don't know how to reproduce this thing
spencer 0 Posted November 24, 2002 BIS's SU-25 has an ejection where you shoot up into the air unless I'm mistaken.

Kermit 0 Posted November 29, 2002 If you want to see how the ejection on fixed-wing aircraft works in Operation Flashpoint, create a mission with an A-10 on the runway on Everon. Give it full throttle, and eject before you take off. Your pilot will pop up into the air and parachute safely to earth. The thing is, you do not notice the popping up when you are in the air, I think.
