The excellent single player mission by Rydygier was originally set on Altis. Official ports were provided for Chernarus, Lingor and Bornholm and links to those missions can be found on the Pilgrimage topic.

 

Rydygier is currently busy with real life but has given permission for players to port the mission to other maps. The purpose of this page is to provide links to the unofficial ports of the mission that have been kept up to date. Some early ports have not been updated and may no longer work, so will not be featured here. When porting some players will add their own preferences into the mission, so they may vary slightly from the official missions and have extra features. Some maps, especially landlocked terrains, will require different mechanics to end the mission.

A description of the differences between the 2 Cambodia ports would be very helpful.  Even better would be if the two ports were merged into one.

  1.  Added a few places to refuel.
  2. Added rocks and rock markers at various places.
  3. Added more assets at potential Mcamps for the AI to hide behind vs just stuck in the open like shooting ducks.
  4. Relocated most spawn points and moved boat closer to player on spawn.
  5. Removed/relocated some checkpoints. Checkpoints are hard to locate due to lack of open areas at cross roads. I doubt a lot will work.
  6. Tweaked some coord's for holyplaces.
  7. Minor tweaks.

Would it be possible to tweak hideout placement rules so that they could occur in the forest/jungle on certain maps like Cambodia, and not just in open areas?  There would be the problem of clipping of camp objects by trees or rocks, but...

I'm sure it's possible to tweak hideout placement rules but it's over my head. Same for checkpoints. I've played Cambodia several times now with checkpoints and hideouts at 100% but have not found any. Even Mcamps/strongholds have issues. There is just not enough open spaces/crossroads to allow these items to find SafePosition. You could lobby Rydygier and see if he has input.

Cambodia is a whole new ballgame.  Seems to me that the object content of checkpoints and strongholds would have to be significantly changed to get them optimized for Cambodia...  

 

The way alky_lee modified your Malden port could be a step in the right direction for Cambodia (less buildings added to airports/strongholds, making them more low-key).

If you open the map in the editor you'll see very few assets were added. So removing objects to "open up" more space is impossible.

  1. Tweaked/checked all starting points.
  2. Started checkpoints from scratch to locate each in an area where I thought it was big enough to spawn everything. Even with 29 checkpoint locations I could only see about 3 or 4 in MCC with settings set to 100%. So, I'm done tinkering with that. :dontgetit:

I'm playing Pvt. Partz's version of Cambodia port (version just before current version).  I spawned near N. end of river river in dark with no map, so I only have rough idea of spawn location.  Never saw the boat due to darkness.  Going back there later, I can't find the boat anywhere along that part of the river.  To end the mission, I assume that body must be loaded onto boat.  The boat must be there somewhere, right?  Or are boats not used in this port?

Boats are used. Normally they are assault boats, sometimes they are speedboat minigun. There are usually plenty of other boats to be found along the central rivers near to jetties. Those boats can also be used to end the mission.

Partz set up the boat spawn to be a further distance from the player spawn, he wants you to find it.  :f:

Cool!  Does your modification of his Cambodia port also have that? I was planning on playing yours next.

 

BTW, the preview screen (seen from mission list) of your version mentions Altis rather than Cambodia...

Hmm, the new version on OneDrive still mentions Altis.  Here is the top of description.ext that would fix it:

BTW, I like how you removed the body location from the ruin ("church") just east of Chamkar Samraong.  The body was near the middle of that ruin in Pvt Partz's version when I played it, and it was a major pain in the ass getting my vehicle close enough to the body to load it.

We ran into the same problem 5 minutes ago and are thinking about a solution.

Mine has more churches and other assets added. Military containers, walkways over water and a bridge. That's all I recall at the moment. Open in the editor and you'll see.

Sounds cool.  Such info would be good to add to first post so that people can quickly and easily determine what's new with ported mission versions.

 

I like the rocks and other items that were added to Cambodia map....

FYI: playing Pvt. Partz's last version of Cambodia port (not current one), I found one hideout and "smelled" smoke from another.  I may have found a checkpoint, but I'm not sure. All I know is that there was an Ifrit or Strider along a road in an open area that wasted me; I didn't get a good look at it.  So the placement code for hideouts and possibly checkpoints is at least partially working.  My hideouts were set at 75%.  The mission ended normally using an assault boat found on river in far NE of map over a km from my starting location.  Two such boats were ~50m from each other where the river passed through a town.
