New computer and ofp crashes

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this problem has been answered but I couldnt find it when I searched, Anyway I got a new computer and OFP runs well much better but I used WinXP before now I have Win98 and maybe I need to upgrade it I'm not sure, I'm running OFP:R 1.85 and well OFP crashes, This has only happened twice with this new computer.

CPU: Intel Pentium Pro SSE 1812.2 MHZ

RAM: 551 MB

CPU Benchmark: 3658

GeForce4 MX420 64MB SDR VGA

DVD-Rom 16x/48

And I did upgrade OFP to 1.10 or 1.20 then I installed 1.75 and 1.85 (I was in a hurry)

If this thread is going to be moved then I want to know where.

Saying you have Opf and it crashes is like going into the Doctor's and saying "I have this pain" and expecting him to heal you, more details are needed.......

heh yea of course sorry, Well it crashes back to windows when the game is started. I did download some scripts for my mission and it could maybe be that which make my OFP crash. And when I say "When the game is started" I mean when I'm playing, I havent played singleplayer only multiplayer and then I edited a mission and it crashed because I wrote wrong in a trigger. But its when I'm playing it crashes without an error message after I have returned to windows.

Have a look into the flashpoint.rpt file.... root of OFP

last entry

sometimes you may have some interesting info in there about a script or memory error after a crash. Try posting the last entry in code tags here.

Now I get an error when I try to start OFP:R

This may seem rather silly but try restarting for that D3D error. Also go to Flashpoint configuration again and see what you can select for video options.

The original crash looks like a mission error. Something like executing foreach in a waypoint... smile.gif But that's mostly a guess.

If you can't restart or shutdown your OS it sounds like you need a pre-load. If its not an SW-error then it sounds more like a faulty RAM-module. Try removing one (if you have more than one).
