spencer 0 Posted November 17, 2002 Playing the mfcti mod is a nightmare after a while, when the bodies build up it lags like there's no tomorrow Edit: hang on a minute, I'm using 1.85, if I installed 1.88 would it lag less? Because I only play the mod offline so if the bodies are bad in 1.85 then it will be better for me if I use 1.88 since I am my own server?

spencer 0 Posted November 17, 2002 Ok, I'm gonna try it This is what it says in the patch download bit on some site BIS have released new version of standalone server patch for OFP:Resistance 1.85. Fixes are: 1.88 - lag issues introduces in 1.85 are fixed 1.88 - fix latency issues and it provides extended server diagnostics for admins with 1.87 clients 1.87 - New: Server can determine max. size of any single custom file acceptable on the server. To do this add line MaxCustomFileSize=size_in_bytes into Flashpoint.cfg file. Users with custom face or custom sound larger than this size are kicked when trying to connect. 1.87 - Added: Dedicated server command #debug (console, totalSent, userSent) (Requires 1.87 client) 1.87 - Fixed: An attempt to fix latency problems: ThrottleGuaranteed is now 1, as it was in 1.75, not 10, as in 1.85. Moreover, it can be configured in Flashpoint.cfg by adding ThrottleGuaranteed=value. 1.87 - Fixed: Too many dead bodies were kept on server in 1.85. 1.86 - Fixed: No missions visible after #missions. Harnu 0 Posted November 17, 2002 I was playing last night on SAS server I believe. We played some very VERY small maps. I mean the biggest one was in a city on Nogova. (The southernmost city on west Nogova) And there were a good hundred or two of dead bodies. But the thing is, I barely experienced any lag. Just the same old OFP issues, clipping through walls and such. Most of the lag came becuase my dad left a game running on his account before switching to mine. (Atleast I think thats what caused some of the lag.) Other than that, just some slowdown as to be expected. But nothing big.
Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted November 17, 2002 Well, if the next patch does handle dead bodys better than 1.75 thats still a plus even though it may not effect everyone.

BIS will not publish a patch ahead of schedule, just because of you - that way they just end up having to release yet another patch to add the fixes that are not ready/not thoroughly tested. Wait and have some patience - the patch will come soon: when it's ready.
Placebo 29 Posted November 19, 2002 Suma has said it will be improved in the forthcoming patch, that for now is the end of the matter
