Any input while ingame causes CPU to slow down and also causes game to freeze

Recommended Posts

This is not an FPS issue. When not using any input keys (I.e movement keys)I have in the upper 80fps on very high. Watching task manager while trying to move I noticed CPU dropping from 30% to .2% while holding any key for longer than a second. Tapping keys for movement allow me to move... slightly, but leaves the game unplayable.

Got the same, although I do not think it is specifically the input, just generally movement on screen or loading new things.

It does make the game unplayable, it invariably happens to me when I see an enemy then try to raise the iron sight, but clearly it is not affecting everyone.  Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Well when i move my camera it doesn't bother it at all. I can aim and shoot too. Typing causes the same freezing issue as movement, forgot to mention that.

Do you have vertical sync enabled?

Esc - > Configure - > Video - > Display

Changed to 32 bit and can now play.... not sure why the issue still happends but at least i can play

how much memory is allocated to arma 3? Keep V-Sync off it creates input lag in some situations

Have you switched to 32bit as i suggested in your thread? Also is vsync on? By the looks of your gaming rig you shouldn't have issues, unless you have a hardware bottleneck.

By a hardware bottleneck i mean the actual hardware used in your PC, not the software or OS (Operating System). What OS are you on? Have you restarted steam since switching to 32bit? Tried restarting your PC?

I don't get the issue with my anti-virus so its likely your anti-virus is being too aggressive. Unfortunately that's not an issue BIS can fix.

I have the same problem. As above and have tried all of the fixes:

Win 10 64bit

VSYNC is off

32 vs 64bit

Game is on SSD

AVG anti virus

My Rig is more than capable of running ARGO........ it crushes A3.

R0adki11,

Thanks for your response. It is very much appreciated!

This is my question?

No laughter in the background please ....... In my 25 years of PC gaming,  Yes I'm an old dude.

I have never turned off my AV in order to game.

Is it safe to do so?
