Hi guys, first post here!

I LOVE arma and play it a lot with my friends however my channel is based mainly around comedy gaming. This is the first arma video I’ve made so I guess I’m looking for some help from you guys by giving me feedback on it, and maybe even stuff you like to see, that entertains you in arma videos.

Thanks, and here it is:

Well made indeed! Congrats on your efforts! :drinking2:

Now, as a fellow indie filmmaker, I want to chime in with some feedback I myself often seek when doing my own work.

I quite enjoyed it. It was simple and not a dialogue-porn alot of micro/non-budget "war" shorts tend to slide into.

The 10-15 minute "sweetspot" running time also helps. Not too stretched or rushed.

The CGI, while noticeable, were quite well integrated and intercut with live footage (esp. that A-10 bit) :evil:

Now for some "constructive feedback" based mostly on my own experience:

Spoiler

1) it is generally more useful to not do the cinematic black bars thing but instead edit and export in native 2:35 aspect ratio (i.e. 1920x817 for fullHD raw footage);

2) don't be afraid to use cutaways for "enhancing" actors actions (i.e. shoulder transitions);

3) in the beginning with several Chedaki fighters firing off in the woods while news reporter narrates, it would have been more "logical" to place the camera more to the side.

I'm going on this form the perspective that it's supposed to be a Chedaki combat/promo video footage the news channel used in their broadcast.

Yet the "cameraman" would have been pretty much in the line of fire.

Also as cliche as it sounds, more degraded footage effect or straight up filming it with an actual phone/handycam would give the shot that little bit of extra "weight" and separate it from actual "cinematic" shots;

4) I know this is nitpicking, but unshaven Marines :f:;

5) one method we used to somewhat mitigate the non-actors "overly calm" performances and voice acting was to have them do some PT (short sprints, pushups etc) inbetween takes so as to offset the lack of acting skillset with actual fatigue.

6) if you're like me and hate to make tens/houndreds of CG shell casings, try to frame out the ejection ports in closeups. It is quite distracting to have the chamber across half the screen and not eject shells (6.5 caseless reference? :f:).

Really hoping to see more short films from you lot!

EDiT: props for CDF sporting actual Ukrainian dubok and/or Soviet tri-color camo!

We're fairly certain nobody's done a live action adaptation of the core arma series (DayZ and BR/PUBG being an exception).

Almost! This one’s a true classic.

Takes me back.

Those graphics are AMAZING!  What renderer are you using ?  DEVs take note .. look at how responsive the AI are!  Driver are even staying to roads and not bashing into trees!
