Ofp:resistance wins game of year.

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

I would like to thank all those who voted on Respawns Game of the year poll. I know we got off to a dodgy start but the results cannot be argued with. The vote was fair and honest and victory goes to the best game of year.

Operation flashpoint Resistance wins Respawns Game of year for BIS. This is a second time in a Row OFP has won this award at Respawn. There are 3 things worth mentioning at this point.

1) Resistance is a mission pack and still won.

2) Bis have consistantly produced very good games.

3) This years games where all excellent too.

For this reason Respawn has awarded BIS its outstanding achievement award for pulling of the double in winning Game of the year for the second time in a row. All the more so because its still the same game and the fans still love it even after nearly 18 months. A Classic in its own right.

Please pass on my congratulations to the team and my thanks as a player for producing such a fine game. The award is well deserved and the fans stood by you loyally throughout the vote.

Well done all.

Whats a Classic ?

A Classic is a game you still love after playing it for a year.

The players clearly believe OFP is a classic and their votes told everybody it is too.

For me it was never in doubt but still nice to see it happen smile.gif

So what are the odds for Bis to make it 3 years in a row? smile.gif

Well if you consider using some probability theories then not good. (then again those theories are pretty much useless in my opinion) smile.gif

The real question is with what? What's the next big BIS project? Someone must know. I heard some wierd name floating around, but I can't remember it.

High if they release OFP2 by next July biggrin.gif

But I guess this is asking too much, maybe July 2004 is more realistic!

Of course this award seems only right to me, there is no question of OFP's greatness biggrin.gif

Any other result would have to been with some back-handers from other software houses wink.gif

WOO HOO Well done BIS, you deserve it, keep up the good Work.

(add 1000 more words of congratulations and screams)
