Orange DLC (wild) SPECULATIONS !!!

Recommended Posts

funny their updated schedule in the latest sitrep forecast Orange for Q3 this year? Sooner than later, and Tac-ops right on it's heels. It's interesting because i haven't been around for awhile, and just returning to find that there's not even the slightest hint of what Orange could be. My bet is still on logistics somehow, but it could be anything at this point.

Just to help with outlining what information we've already shared, let me post here what I've written on Reddit earlier:

Quote

Don't worry, it's coming together very nicely. For this slightly more unorthodox DLC expect the full reveal and final release to be quite close to each other.

Source

In terms of scope, we've described it vaguely, but it does fit with the actual contents on release day:

Quote

The Arma 3 "Orange" DLC will include new vehicles, new clothing and gear, new decorative objects, a mini-campaign, Showcase and Challenge scenarios, and more. In terms of size, the "Orange DLC" stands somewhere in between the Arma 3 Karts and Arma 3 Helicopters/Marksmen/Jets/Tanks DLC.

Source

With regards to the release schedule:

Quote

Here you may have spotted a small shuffle to our planned releases, moving the DLC code-named "Orange" beyond Malden DLC. Upon evaluation we felt there was too little spacing after Jets DLC, and this will let us tackle things in a more splendid order.

Source

We completely understand that you're very curious about what to expect precisely, and we're super excited to share the details with you in the near future. There are reasons why we've taken this approach with the reveal for this DLC, which we hopefully can explain a bit more afterwards. It's all good though, so stay tuned! :)

@DnA I think out of all the DLC and Apex - Orange is the most exciting for me - keep up the splendid work! :P

Funny, for me this small dlc is the most exciting one (even more funny; after that it's Malden!).

So, do we interpret the bar with end of July or end of August release date? :>

from what it looks like to me it will be in the first week of september (so 6th).

it's not 100% exact, but i guess the schedule itself isn't either.

Seems it's not july, maybe mid/end of august!

(Btw that avatar, sgt.smash?)

I hope it's not something like karts, rather something we'll use in game more often....civilian or logistic support (transport/cargo plane or such).

Orange dlc comes second on my "anticipation list" after malden dlc.

I think the update to the plow is an obvious sign...

inb4 it's actually got nothing to do with Orange DLC. It could possibly be part of Tanks DLC?

Yup - an equally valid suggestion, I'm just suspecting Orange is humanitarian mission related (minefield clearance, convoy protection).

Recent dev branch changes also include improvements to the mine detector (detection audio) and a reduction in the ability of non-specialist infantry to spot mines without mine detecting equipment.

To get back to that for a second.. Just noticed this by accident in one of the Apex cutscenes:

dJlimo.png

The full text reads "South Pacific Disaster: International Disaster Relief Organisation (IDRO) appeals for greater international cooperation in face of rising criminality". Now IDAP and IDRO aren't the same, obviously, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's somehow connected?

Maybe IDAP will be a new organisation to support IDRO that acts as a kind of UN

If they go for the red cross, SAR type stuff it would be so nice to have a winch/hoist on a heli to allow us to winch units off buildings or recover then from the sea

You do realise that Karts was a tester DLC, and that money raised from it went to the Czech Red Cross.

Well unfortunately i am not privy to that sort of information. As Forum Moderators are only volunteer community members and not BIS Employees. :f:

Only that the dev-diary has been made and that they are in "soft datalock", further not a single piece of orange has been published.

Combat search and rescue would be a really interesting angle to play as, even civilian search and rescue.

Posted on their facebook page. Thoughts?

Seems inline with the peace keeping idea. Would guess that we´ll have some reskinned peacekeeping units and an extended civ pack. However they also said that Orange grew to be more extensive so there could be some interesting new assets on the way (not getting my hopes up though :) ).
