Hello!

I cooked up a simple little config mod that reduces haze on all of the vanilla, apex and CUP maps. This is more of a personal tweak as the default settings made me feel like there is a constant fog hanging in front of me. I only reduced the haze as removing it completely made the terrains look bad.

The fog still works fine, the shorter view distances also look fine. The only known issue is the fact the sky gradient looks a bit off.

By default only Stratis, Altis and VR are enabled. You can enable the reduced haze for other maps by moving/copying pbos from the "optional" folder.

For interested, I changed "hazeBaseBeta0" setting in CfgWorlds for each of the maps.

Somebody posted something similar a few weeks ago by the way. But I can't remember if it was in the CUP TP thread or in a private chat :(

I think that guy has another "no haze" mod.

Not realistic but very cool for gaming . Download now

Having a constant wall of fog, with I can't turn off, in front of me isn't realistic either. There are still more settings for haze and I only changed single one of them, so there is still a room for tweaks and such. Note that I didn't remove the haze, only toned it down.

Do note that the fog is still 100% functional and you can use that instead.

This looks really nice, but does it have any FPS impact?

That looks really cool. Given that it's a config tweak, I suppose there's no scripting equivalent?

Not really, I think. All it did was reducing the haze you see with naked eye, if you had thermals you could still see at 6 km no problem.

Not that I know of.
