My vote goes to A, but you should change the helmet. Also, from which mod comes the gaili? Is it custom to SFF?

Alwarren actually, I got his permission to use it a while back, only used for the African SOF (Somali and Kenyan SOF) until now. It's an IMI synthetic GALIL ARM in 7.62 NATO with a 25 round magazine.

No, those are not mine. I do not know the guy.

Also, I just saw Van post some super-sexy camo that could might work well for the AAF special forces and the like-

Work-In-Progress AAF 'Spathi' Special Forces

AAF 'Spathi' Special Forces defending a building during the Altis Civil War, 2020.

Spathi Team

These units are a kind of a side-project to the 'Overhauls', and are not dependant on them to work, but add missing units to the game- in this case, NATO and CSAT both have Special Forces/ Recon Infantry units but the AAF have no equivalent units or counterpart to them.

These AAF 'Spathi' (Sword) SOF units are also my first units requiring Project Zenith (and nothing else except CBA, so no RHS/NIA versions needed) and should function just fine alongside either the AAF Overhauls or base game/vanilla AAF Forces. I plan to fill the faction out to around the same size (Squad or slightly larger) as the CSAT/ NATO Recon Teams, but I'll have a larger range of teams/groups to pick from.

Regarding AAF Overhaul [RHS] I've had these planned for a while (Actually longer than the AAF NIA Overhaul, when RHSGREF added the Lizard fatigues) , but I think they will be cancelled because I think the AAF 2017 mod is just better than anything I can do right now.

I may instead do a second version of the AAF Overhaul, which rather than Greek based would be based on a British-backed peacekeeping force in DPM camo. Considering L85's, AK's, Galils', HK33's, FAL's or something like that, anything not an AR-15, as the primary weapons.

Thoughts, or would you rather see the RHS AAF Overhaul go ahead regardless? It would be based on Option A.

United States Special Operations Forces released-

This is a themed collection of all SFF factions originating from the US Armed Forces as a single mod. Content is the following groups-

US 75th Ranger Regiment
US Navy SEALS and USAF Pararescue
US MARSOC Marine Raiders
US 'Delta Force' CAG

The Factions-

The 75th Ranger Regiment faction consists of Ranger units wearing Multicam uniforms and armed with Daniel Defence mk18's and FN SCAR-H's.

The Rangers use period accurate equipment and weapons based on photgraphs and helmet camera footage taken from July 2014 through to December 2015 deployment tour of the 75th Ranger Regiment to Afganistan.

Marksmen are issued SCAR-H's, while regular Ranger infantrymen get Mk18's. They also have M249 SAWS issued on the fireteam level, with platoon level issue of MMGs and heavier AT assets like the M3 MAAWS/ Carl Gustav. The standard sidearm is the M1911 but some units carry FNX-45 Tacticals.

The faction is also available in Multicam Tropic if you wish to use Rangers for a Tanoan or Jungle deployment, with the Ranger and Regimental Recon forces being dress in more suitable camo instead of the normal Multicam Cyre G3 uniforms.

The SEALS are accurate to a mid 2009-June 26, 2012 (VBSS) to 2016-2017 (SEAL and SWCC) time period, based on photograhs, helmet camera footage or my unnamed consultant, with weapons and equipment based on the gear they used at that time.

The HK416 and HK416 CQB, supplimented by small numbers of M4A1's form the bulk of the infantry rifles, with the Mk48 providing the SEALS with substantial 7.62 firepower at the fireteam level, replacing the aging Mk43 (M60E4's) they used to use in that role. The standard marksman rifle is the FN SCAR-H rifle.

They wear AOR-1 Camo and LBV6094 vests, as similar as possible as I could get to real life. The M1911 and FNX-45 are their primary sidearms. The M136 AT4 is also used as their primary AT weapon.

Delta Force is the United State's premier Army unit, and performs hostage resue, Direct Action and reconnaissance missions, often working alongside the CIA.

The faction is equipped for a Pacific region deployment in Multicam Tropic camo, and is armed with the Mk18 or Hk416 as the primary rifle, supported by the 7.62 Mk48 version of the M249 Machinegun, SCAR-H's and AT4's, with the FNX-45 Tactical as the primary sidearm.

The MARSOC Marine Raiders units have a distinct appearance, being one of the only remaining combat units in the US who still use the M81 Woodland Camo pattern.

Armaments consist of 2 primary infantry rifles- the Daniel Defence MK18 and the FN SCAR-H, in both Marksman roles and as an infantry weapon. Supporting units carry weapons such as the M27 IAR (Fireteam Level) and M249 SAW (Squad level) with other weapons including small numbers of M4A1's, SCAR-L's and 338. Lapua Magnum rifles. They wear M81 Woodland camo with Tan equipment.

All Factions has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio, ACE3 and ALiVE support (faction name BLU_AI (Normal Multicam forces) or BLU_AI_T (Tropical Multicam forces ) SL (US Navy SEALS) MR (Marine Raiders) CAG (Delta Force)

I also have re-positioned the [SFF] and [SFF-R] faction tags for all my mods, so it's now much more organised in the Arma 3 Launcher. Brackets! Organisation! OCD! :)

@jarrad96: False advertising!   haha, no just kidding. :e: But seriously when I saw this today on SW:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1300954018

I thought that it s some new faction of US Army Green Berets because name United States Special Forces Groups implies that. I think that name like United States Special Operations Forces on Special Mission Units would be better and help to avoid confusion.

Regards.

AAF Spathi / Recon Special Forces released-

bBf8rrA.jpg

CeYS4C3.jpg

CgrTvu9.jpg

BbZwoVU.jpg

Wf19nQS.jpg

rkMZw3O.jpg

This is an expansion of the AAF (Altis Armed Forces) troops to include Special Forces, giving the AAF an equivalent to NATO and CSAT's existing Recon Teams, which AAF lacks in the base game.

Historical Info-

AAF 'Spathi' (Blade) Special Forces were a unit formed during the start of the Altis Civil War, and served in recon, direct action raids, hostage rescue and other missions where the conventional AAF infantry forces lacked equipment or training.

The Faction-

Because of their specialist role, they have a higher budget compared to the AAF infantry, and are armed with HK416A5's as standard, supported by 7.62 NATO Bulldog battle rifles and M249 SAWs. Standard sidearm remains the M1911.
Uniforms are Gorkas in Lizard camo and other cold-weather gear, due to them primarily fighting in the higher altitude areas around Oreokastro, a known FIA strongpoint and centre for insurgent operations in the area. Crye Airframes are the standard helmet, but some PASGT's from the infantry are used on occasion.

Specialist Elements-

As a counterpart to the other faction's Recon Teams, the Spathi have access to JTAC's, as well as combat engineers/explosive specialists and medical teams. Sniper-Spotter teams are also recruited from the AAF ground forces or Spathi itself.

The 'Spathi' forces are an additional side-faction to the main AAF forces to make it compatible with AAF Overhaul/replacement mods or base game AAF forces.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name AAFSF ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.

I would love to use the @OPFOR FIA Overhauled on my antistasi server. Is there any reason is not signed or am I missing something?

Nice work.

You don't need to ask permission, it's just fine if you want to use it on whatever server.

As far as signing goes, I absolutely suck at it (And most of my friends play unsigned because WIP mods and ACE will kick randoms anyway) , I know it's simple but I can never work it out, but I know people often re-sign their mods for their own mod packs and I'm totally fine with people doing that to anything of mine that has no sign.

OK, I've been having technical issues with the RHS AAF forces (I'll be going with A) so I'm thinking of doing some more expansions.

Malden Defence Forces?

spzy1Le.jpg

A- Iranian DPM pattern with AUG's and Tan kit (the camo works fantastic for Malden terrains, particularly the more arid nothern areas, which is also where the military areas are)

DWWXyvX.jpg

B- Iranian DPM with FN FALs (synthetic, shortened)

WoEJW7I.jpg

C- Chocolate Chip camo with G3's (loosely based on the MEC from BF2 Project Reality, which I've been playing recently- 9485_1.jpg )

cdamDx6.jpg

D- Choc Chip with FAL.

I've also considered the G36E and AUG's if people prefer a 5.56 rifle to having a 7.62 armed force. Leaning towards A or B at the moment, as the camo works in the south, where the choc chip doesn't really.

I think you should go with A. Also it would be cool if you add mg3's for the machine gunners.

I'm having a hearty chuckle right now. Working on a faction of my own, and offhandedly decided to check out some Malden loadouts I made and see how they would work with the Tavor 21, CE ACU, and Basic Green Helmet.

That was literally 2 minutes before I decided to check my notifications for new posts on the thread.

Jumped over here, had a good chuckle for a minute or so.

But if I had to choose, go with the Iranian DPM. But as a small suggestion, check out the CE camouflage, because from what I could tell, Malden's cities are all in French, so there's room to expand upon that and have that like "France and some other countries lend small arms and equipment to them in 2035" kind of idea.

I do have some French CE and Daguet camo, yeah, but I was going to save that for when I do the French RPIMa- Now they've been transferring from the FAMAS to the Hk416/ HK416F I can do em, and NIA is working on some really nice HK416's, so it's going to be a toss-up between using SMA HK416's or waiting for NIA to finish their HK's and then using them.

What I think I might go with for the Malden Army is the AUG's supported by Minimi's (Autoriflemen, chosen because it's a better match with the AUG's compared to a MG3) and the FN-3011 (Sniper/DMR rifle) with older P226's for sidearms.

The large variation of AUG's mean I can have it as a PDW/SMG for officers/crewmen in 9mm, as well as a normal rifle, DMR/ IAR (HBAR) and have the Minimi serve as the heavier 5.56 MGrole, ALA USMC. SOF can also use the fancier versions, while the reserves get the A1 (IRL I hated the doughnut sight, but it is iconic) and regulars with the slightly more modern A2's.

So if I use this addon - let us say the OPFOR Fia and add an own made signature key and upload it to the workshop it's ok? Ofcourse I give you the credit.

Or is it hard to make an addon like this myself?

1. I had no idea they were working on HK416's! That sounds like it's gonna be hella neat.

2. AUG platform sounds like a pretty good idea when you put it like that.

Curious though, will the MDF lean towards aircraft more heavily than other factions due to the massive airstrip up there? I mean, I'm pretty sure it's bigger than the one on Altis.

As far as aircraft go, I'm not sure yet, it's not something I normally have in factions but I could add them? Right now I'm planning to concentrate on infantry forces and ground SOF, maybe some UAV's and the like- I'll see what Tanks DLC brings and then maybe add vehicles to the MDF.

Special Operation Forces Faction mod [SFF] that adds the Malden Defence Forces to Arma.

Historical Info-

Malden is a small island with a relatively small population, and the most important event to happen since the Napoleonic Wars in the early 1800's was it's involvement in the War of 1985, where the island was invaded by Soviet forces against a small United States Army garrison. In the aftermath of the conflict itself the Malden government decided to allocate increasing government funding for their own military force, the Malden Defence Forces, which were established in 1987, with stocks of ex-European arms arriving and being adopted by the military.

The Faction-

The Malden Armed Forces are primarily Infantry based, and are decently equipped with primarily European weapons and equipment, with the tan AUG A2 with Docktor optic being standard issue. The standard uniform of the MDF is an arid DPM pattern, with body armor and helmets used for the majority of soldiers.

Small numbers of AUG A1's and AUG 9mm PDW's are used in reserve and non-combat roles such as engineers, crewmen, pilots and assistants, as the older rifles and optics are still more effective than a sidearm.

The primary support weapons are the AUG HBAR (Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle), which is used on the fireteam level as a light automatic rifle, and the SIG DMR, which is the standard Marksman rifle. Minimi machineguns are used as a squad and support level weapon, similar to the US Marines. Standard sidearms are old 1980's German P226's and P228's, with more modern versions used by commandos and higher-ranking units.

Specialist Elements-

The Malden 2nd Commando Regiment is the pride of the small Malden military, and they have distinctive British DPM uniforms and berets. Because of their higher budget compared to the standard armed forces, some of which are still using firearms from 1980's and 1990's, the Commandos have the more moden AUG-A3's, as well as access to more modern optics and accessories such as larger stocks of night vision, IR lasers and body armor.

In the event of a second war on Malden, the 2nd Commandos (as the 1st Commandos are purely a reserve and training unit) would be mobilised and used for raiding and attacks on enemy forces, based out of small mountain compounds and cave complexes around the centre of Malden.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name MDF ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. Thanks to Lerry_BR for allowing the uniforms to be used.

Notes- Infantry only right now, but it should be a larger selection of groups/squads than normal. Vehicles may come after Tanks comes out, not sure yet- I still want the MDF to be infantry based but some support vehicles may make it in future updates.

Hey, trying to utilize your SOF Collection and NATO Overhaul, but it seems the AI spawn with no ammo. I've deleted and replaced the mods and all the dependencies multiple times, tried with and without ACE, but all AI only seem to spawn with a mag in their weapon and nothing in their vests or backpacks.

Any ideas what's going on?
