Any thoughts on doing a more conventional Middle Eastern Faction? I always noticed a distinct lack of Iranian or Saudi type units from a lot of A3 mods. Usually they depict Taliban or other insurgencies in the Middle East.

Such as? I have the Afghan National Army/ ANA 2nd Commandos.

I would consider those conventional forces.

Some MARSOC Marine Raiders (RHS Version) Pics.

dqy0ElQ.jpg

Raider Marksman with M11.

H9poMsa.jpg

Raider Scouts and a Sniper-Spotter Team, Africa.

Release should only be a few hours away, I'm just taking pictures and such now.

Some of the differences-

RHS Mk18's are standard for the faction with some M4A1 Block 2's in some roles and the Block 2's are standard for the Scouts giving them a bit more range compared to the normal Raiders.

New squads- Assault Team- bringing them more in line with my modern factions, the assault team is a fireteam that replaces the AT weapon with a 40mm grenade launcher.

Sniper-Spotter Team now has the Mk11 (Spotter) and M40A5 (Sniper)

Helicopters added- UH1Y Venom and MH6-M Littlebird- the UH1Y has Marine crew, while the MH6 has Army crew (As a SOAR stand-in)

Replacements-

APC/Marshall replaced with RG-33 Armed MRAP.

Apex LSV replaced with MRZ4 LSV/ATV.

Apex HK416 IAR replaced with M27 IAR.

SCAR-H replaced with Mk11's for Marksman and M4 Block 2 for Infantry.

Most of the M1911's replaced with Glock 17's.

RHS hand grenades like M67's (Raiders) and Flashbangs (Scouts) added.

The M27 is equipped according to USMC standards with a ACOG with RMR, Bipod, Tango Down forgrip, ANPEQ-15 Laser.

Before anyone asks, yes, the fact the IAR gunner has 20 magazines is intentional, as 16-22 is the combat load of an IAR within a fireteam.

Special Operation Forces Faction mod, RHS Version [SFF-R] that contains the United States MARSOC Marine Raider Regiment.

Note this version is dependant on RHS Escalation. If you would prefer different dependancies there is a SMA version also available. They are not compatible with each other and cannot be enabled at the same time.

They form one of the Special Forces units in the Marine Corps, and are under the command of MARSOC- Marine Special Operations Command. The faction contains several units of Raiders, with supporting Scout elements and light vehicle and helicopter support.

The faction is based upon photos and helmet-camera footage, primarily on a deployment in 2010 to the Farah province, Bala Baluk District, Afghanistan, 2010, but I also have sources from 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017, up until Febuary 2017.

Historical Info-

Named after the Marine Raiders unit from WW2, the Marine Raiders are a Marine Special Forces unit, created as the Marine's element of SOCOM, Special Operations Command, in 2005- members were drawn from other Marine SF units such as Force Recon. The unit was initially trained by the Navy SEALS but is now independent.
Motto- "Always Faithful, Always Forward"

The Faction-

The Marine Raiders units have a distinct appearance, being one of the only remaining combat units in the US who still use the M81 Woodland Camo pattern. Armaments consist of 2 primary infantry rifles- the Daniel Defence MK18 and the M4A1 Block II as infantry weapons.
Supporting units carry weapons such as the M27 IAR (Fireteam Level) and M249 SAW (Squad level) with other weapons including small numbers of Mk11 rifles, based on the SR-25/M110 base platform, used in the Designated Marksman role. The standard sidearm is the Glock 17 but there are small numbers of custom M1911's for some Marines. They wear M81 Woodland camo with Tan equipment.

Specialist Elements-

The Raiders have support from a Raider Scout team, who are lightly armored, fast moving infiltration units who carry the longer ranged M4A1 Block II's as standard, and have supressors. The Scouts have less body armor than the regular Raiders, but have much heavier firepower and access to long-range rifles such as the M40A5 sniper rifle. They also have flashbang grenades.

Supports-

They have vehicle support from light vehicles like quads, ATV's, LSV's and from RG-33 MRAP's, who can also transport a heavily armed assault team as a Quick-Reaction-Force (QRF) The Raiders also have helicopter support from a UH-1Y or MH-6M helicopter, with a Zodiac boat for water insertions.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name MR ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. The Marine Raiders are a BLU faction.

Also in reference to the Japanese SF earlier, I know TRYK Uniforms has a variant of Type 2 camo. I don't know how the whole texture donation stuff works however, so that's just a suggestion on my part. Also, MICH helmets and weapons from RHS would work pretty well. Here's a video for some reference, if it's any help: https://youtu.be/Uz89Oc4wCEc (sorry for cringe music)

P.S. The new Marine Raiders RHS version is awesome!

Yes, I will be doing the majority of my units (excluding the ones with higher amounts of NIA weapons, or forces like the Africans who use the SCAR, which RHS doesn't have) with a RHS version.

This mean almost all OPFOR groups and all American and European groups will have a RHS version. Right now I'm thinking the OPFOR or the ANA will be next.

As as far as the SCAR's go, VSM has given me permission to use his upcoming SCARS for the faction mods, so once they release I'll add them into some factions alongside RHS or SMA.

Abu Sayyaf Group, RHS Version, released

uC4O12E.jpg

Al Qaeda trained elite forces within the faction have better equipment, such as M16's and M4's, as well as greater access to body armor and camo uniforms.

KORD HMG providing cover over a small bay of Tanoa.

8MTgj3q.jpg

ASG infantry forces move a convoy through the jungle.

PbS6Y1f.jpg

Technicals and mortars provide the greatest firepower in the faction- they are more suited to ambushing and hit-and-run tactics to direct combat.

A Special Forces Faction, RHS Version [SFF-R] that adds the Philippines terrorist organisation of Abu Sayyaf Group "Bearer of the Sword". The faction is accurate to a 2011-2016 timeline.

Note this version is dependant on RHS Escalation. If you would prefer different dependancies there is a SMA version also available. They are not compatible with each other and cannot be enabled at the same time.

The Faction-

Abu Sayyaf are a Muslim Extremist insurgency in the Philippines. They are armed with a mix of firearms, from AK47's, M4A1's and M16 rifles, supported by heavier weapons like PKM's and mortars captured from the Army, or gained in drug trading with the Mexican Cartels.
Uniforms vary, but are usually anything in a neutral color scheme, be that M81 woodland, Tiger stripe or just flat colors. They are well known for making heavy use of IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) and other traps.

Historical Info-

The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) are a splinter cell from the Moro National Liberation Front (segmented in 1991) and their aim is to establish an independent Islamic State within the Pacific region.

The faction rose in power during the early 2000s after the leader of the ASG formed a personal connection with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, who assisted them with weapon and training. Since 2014 however, they have changed allegiance to the Islamic State.

The faction primarily funds itself via dealings with the Mexican drug cartels, or via hostage taking from Western nations. They have beheaded hostages whose money was not recieved.

Specialist Elements-

The ASG have a small core force of internationally trained forces, who are equipped with superior gear and weaponry to the main force. They carry the M16 rifle or M4A1's by standard, and have camo uniforms and access to heavier body armor than the main force. In real life these would be represented by the Al Qaeda trained forces within the faction, rather than the domestically trained main force.

Supports-

The ASG are supported primarily by light vehicles like technicals and trucks, but also have a sizeable naval force of assault boats and captured civilian sailing vessels. They also have access to a light mortar.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name ASG ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. ASG are an INDEP faction.

Re-organised the main page a bit better-

Factions are now better sub-divided into groups/ collections, you have the main SMA/NIA SFF factions, then the SFF-RHS factions, and then the Faction Overhauls, with more photos than before.

Faction wise I have cancelled the FARC-EP faction.

I feel that Abu Sayyaf fill the role of a Pacific or South American political OPFOR group better right now, and the person I was working with on the FARC-EP faction has stopped responding to me after I released the Colombian Special Forces. (Originally created for him in return for the FARC uniforms, but I never got the uniforms in return. I'm a little annoyed by that.)

@foxhound

Wrong one, the SFF (not RHS) version was the one that had the update, as it was missing the vehicle. The SFF- RHS version is fine, as it had the vehicle on first release.

Key- SFF-R = RHS version

SFF = SMA or NIA version

Special Forces Faction, RHS Versions, thats adds the real life 'Anti-Balaka' movement of the Central African Republic to Arma 3.
CIl1s6L.jpg

ejcRSLl.jpg

Note this version is dependant on RHS content. If you would prefer different dependencies there is a SMA/NIA version also available. They are not compatible with each other and cannot be enabled at the same time.

Meaning 'Anti-Machete', they were originally a collection of village defence forces and a resistance group against raiders and criminals, before overpowering them and being embroiled in the 2012-Today Central African Republic's civil war.

The Faction-

The Anti-Balaka are an originally Christian movement, now non-religious, anti-Muslim group, and they have been known to multilate, kill and then cannibalise Muslim's civilians, or 'Seleka' Muslim Goverment forces.
As a militia organisation, they have no true uniform, but often wear necklace talismans in the belief it makes them invincible.
The general militia forces will use anything they can get their hands on, from civilian clothing, guerrilla gear or mixed camos.
Weapons used by the militia consist of everything from AKM's and AKM's, AK-74's, M14's and RPG's, with sidearms varing from flares, Makarov's and M1911's.
Motto- "The Invincible"

Specialist Elements-

The FACA are former Central African Republic (CAR) soldiers who deserted from the military after a Muslim backed goverment seized power in 2012, to form the elite elements of the faction. They have more standardised Lizard camo uniforms, access to greater amounts of body armor and equipment, and are armed primarily with the AK-74 variants of rifles. IED's are used rather commonly by the Anti-Balaka forces so they have IED specialist units.

Supports-

The CAR forces are backed by jungle camouflage technicals and offroads, with re-purposed civilian trucks for transport if needed- they lack any firepower greater than the occasional 50. Cal technical.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name CAR ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.
