Thanks for your brilliant works! I have subscribed almost all your SF and overhauled mod (NIA & SMA version, Which have much smaller install size and have my favorite SCAR and G36). Just report an issue of taliban and Middle East SF mod as opfor when I played Dynamic Recon Missions and MCC-generated missions. These two factions cannot be initiated correctly when starting scenarios. Sometimes weapon loadouts are missing and all these opfor soldiers are unarmed. In most cases there are no spawned opfor soldiers at all, especially in ‘clear the area’ type mission. Could you please help with this. Thanks.

Make sure you have the dependencies loaded for both of them, as they require EricJ's Taliban uniforms. Dynamic Recon Ops has occasionally bugged and re-set units if they are the player/allied side meaning your customisation of their gear is not applied, that's because of the way the mission handles player side changes and units, but I don't know how to fix it, apart from if you wanted edited loadouts for the Taliban/ME guys having to use the Arsenal at base instead of the one at the spawn/squad select screen.

I have not used MCC since 2016, so I have no idea about that, but I have not had issues with the units as Dynamic Recon Ops when they are enemy, they seem to spawn and work just fine, just as allies it seems a bit weird.

Thanks mate! Maybe I should try other mission generators.

BTW, as for your previous Poll regarding NIA & SMA, I am on the side of keeping them both. Even not updated for a long time, SMA is still one of the highest quality mods ever, and I believe it is still alive in many armers' arsenal.

Special Operation Forces Factions mod, RHS Version [SFF-R] that contains all my RHS dependant factions, not including campaign replacements, in the same mod.

BLUFOR-

US Navy SEALS-

The U.S. Navy SEALs were established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 as a small, elite maritime military force to conduct Unconventional Warfare. They carry out the types of clandestine, small-unit, high-impact missions that large forces with high-profile platforms (such as ships, tanks, jets and submarines) cannot. They form the US Navy's premier Special Operations Force (SOF) and are a component in NAVSPECWAR.

The SEAL units have a range of primarily infantry units who wear AOR-1 and Multicam camo and LBV6094 vests with Opscore and Opscore Maritime helmets.

US MARSOC Marine Raiders-

Named after the Marine Raiders unit from WW2, the Marine Raiders are a US Marine Special Forces unit, created as the Marine's element of SOCOM, Special Operations Command, in 2005- members were drawn from other Marine SF units such as Force Recon. The unit was initially trained by the Navy SEALS but is now independent.

The Marine Raiders units have a distinct appearance, being one of the only remaining combat units in the US who still use the M81 Woodland Camo pattern. Armaments consist of 2 primary infantry rifles- the Daniel Defence MK18 and the M4A1 Block II as infantry weapons.

Polish GROM Special Forces-

The Polish GW GROM ( Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego) are Poland's most elite Special Forces unit, and were founded in 1990, and trained by US Delta Force, US Navy SEAL Teams, and the British Special Air Service. Named after Poland's WW2 special forces unit, the 'Silent Unseen' and have since garnered a reputation, even among other international Special Forces Units as being one of the best units in the world.

The Polish GROM in this mod are accurate to a 2011-2016 timeframe, based on real life photographs and sources where possible, with weapons like the HK416 and equipment based on what they used at that time.

INDEP-

Afghan National Army Commandos-

Commando units were formed in the Afghan Army in early 2007, and perform similar roles to the US Army Rangers. They often serve alongside other allied SF units, who serve as commanders and advisors, or as support, for the ANA Army or Commando forces.

The ANA 2nd Commando form the Special Forces element of the faction, and are equiped with much more modern gear, such as M4A1's and M249 SAW's as standard, with Crye Gen 3 Uniforms and custom plate carriers, Opscores, Night Vision googles and IR lasers. They also have more access to magnified optics, supressors and IR devices like strobes.

Abu Sayyaf Group-

The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) are a splinter cell from the Moro National Liberation Front (segmented in 1991) and their aim is to establish an independent Islamic State within the Pacific region.

The faction rose in power during the early 2000s after the leader of the ASG formed a personal connection with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, who assisted them with weapon and training. Since 2014 however, they have changed allegiance to the Islamic State.
The faction primarily funds itself via dealings with the Mexican drug cartels, or via hostage taking from Western nations. They have beheaded hostages whose money was not received.

OPFOR-

Russian Spetznaz-

The term 'Spetsnaz' is a general catch-all that refers to all Soviet and Russian Special Forces groups. The faction is based on the Spetznaz SSO and the Spetznaz 'Vympel' units in particular.
'Vympel' Unit was formed under the command of the KGB, the Soviet intelligence forces, in 1981, and it operates internationally, outside Russia's borders. The Unit went on to fight in Afghanistan, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Angola, Mozambique, Lebanon, as either direct combat units and a raiding force, intelligence gathering recon missions, or as military advisors in fighting against guerrilla or insurgent movements.

Also includes a substantial amount of SSO Spetsnaz soldiers, based on photographs and helmet camera footage from Mid-2016 to March, 2017, from the fighting in the Palmyria Offensive, Syria. The SSO are much more suited to desert fighting than the Vympel forces, and have slightly more access to more advanced equipment due to being based on photos that are several years newer.

Islamic State-

The Islamic State, particularly the 'Islamic State of Iraq and and Syria/Levant', known as 'Daesh' in Arabic, are a terrorist organisation that originated in anti-Western groups in the Middle East such as the Taliban and other Jidahist groups.

In 2014 it rose to power under the name of Islamic State, and has since been fighting on multiple fronts in the Middle East region, such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Nigeria and Somalia, among others.
IS has become renowned for it's extremist views, acts such as suicide bombings, executions and beheadings, and the belief that the Islamic State heads a global Apocalypse against the entire planet.

Taliban Insurgency-

The Taliban emerged in the early 1990s in northern Pakistan following the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan- by 1994 they had moved into Afghanistan with the promise of restoring peace and security through the introduction of Sharia once they were in power. After the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 they became an insurgency and continued to fight using guerrilla tactics.

Lebanese Hezbollah-

The Hezbollah are a Lebanese Shi'ia Islamist political and military group. The position of Hezbollah as an organisation is tenuous, as it is both a legitimate political party and a Military organisation. This faction is based on photographs and video footage from August 13th, 2013 to December 30th, 2016. it is important to note that the organisation has since evolved into a much more conventional fighting force and modern Hezbollah look different to this but this mod is based on the EARLY period of the group, when they were more irregular.

Epirean Free Militia-

Since the initial deployment of the US Army in the Green Sea region for Operation Arrowhead in 2009-2014 drew the majority of Western forces into the Middle East, the situation in Epirus has declined and several warring factions have broken out in the mountainous nation, which has been suffering greatly from the multiple wars that have broken out during the 20th Century as well as mass poverty in the region.

'The Epirean Free Militia' is one of the largest factions, and have equipment comparable with a third world's standing army, with it's forces split into two distinct groups-

The Militia forces, who have civilian, guerrilla or mixed older weapons and equipment, such as AKM's, AK74SU's and partial camo or civilian clothes with little access to body armor other than some scavenged from killed police units, make up the bulk of EFM ground and infantry forces. Some veteran soldiers act as leaders for the Militia fighters, and they can be identified by their improved equipment and weapons, as well as more common use of camo.

Central African Rebels-

Meaning 'Anti-Machete', these were originally a collection of village defence forces and a resistance group against raiders and criminals, before overpowering them and being embroiled in the 2012-Today Central African Republic's civil war.

The Anti-Balaka are an originally Christian movement, now non-religious, anti-Muslim group, and they have been known to mutilate, kill and then cannibalise Muslim's civilians, or 'Seleka' Muslim Government forces.
As a militia organisation, they have no true uniform, but often wear necklace talismans in the belief it makes them invincible.
The general militia forces will use anything they can get their hands on, from civilian clothing, guerrilla gear or mixed camos.
Weapons used by the militia consist of everything from AKM's and AKMS's, AK-74's, M14's and RPG's.

Important Notes-

After many, many requests for them over the past 2 years or so, I've decided to make some all-in-one collections for my factions. This first one is for all my factions that use RHS Escalation, with another one for the NIA/SMA factions to come later, and then maybe some collections of the Overhauls for use the Campaigns if there is interest in that. The reason you have not seen these earlier is that I was waiting to slow down so I would not have to constantly update the collections every time I released or updated a faction.

I've been losing alot of enthusiasm for modding A3 recently, so don't have any more factions in the works at the moment, so thought this would be a good time to work on the collections of what I have made. I'm still playing the game often, just not making new factions right now, I've kind of covered every possible scenario/ world region / SOF group that's plausible without getting into really specific mods that would only be used for a single faction, which was not my intention, which was for a wider range of more versatile units using a more general modpack. I might still do factions, but not on a schedule/ regular thing, more likely one-off's.

They carry out the types of clandestine, small-unit, high-impact missions that large forces with high-profile platforms (such as ships, tanks, jets and submarines) cannot. They form the US Navy's premier Special Operations Force (SOF) and are a component in NAVSPECWAR.
Motto- "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday"

THE FACTION-

The SEALS in this mod are based on the 1989-late 1990/ early 2000's time period, rather than more modern Navy SEALS.
The then-new RIS M4A1 Carbine and older non-RIS M4A1's, form the bulk of the infantry rifle, supplemented by small numbers of MP5's, M16A2's and M14's, with the Mk43, a variant of the M60, providing the SEALS with substantial 7.62 firepower at the fireteam level. Optics range from iron sights, to Aimpoint COMP M2's, to Trijacon red dots, with a small number of magnfied optics like Leopold Mk4's or older ACOG's for a small selection of the SEALS. The standard marksman rifle is a scoped M14.

They wear either 6 Colour Desert/ 'Choc-Chip' Camo for their older Desert units and a mix of webbing and vests, with an alternative option for a Forest version of the faction with mixed ERDL and M81 Woodland camo's for more lush terrains. Both have US flag patches on their shoulders for most uniforms. The M1911 and M9 are their primary sidearms. The M72 LAW is their primary AT weapon.

SPECIALIST ELEMENTS-

A 2 man sniper team armed with a bolt-action M24 SWS and M16A2 are available as options apart from the regular squads.

SUPPORTS-

Radio communication teams, medical, demolitions and additional machinegun teams as well as some alternative squad and fireteam layouts. Support teams usually lack the Autorifleman and instead have a support soldier, such as a medic, a demolitions expert with additional mines and armed with a MP5, or units like Ammo Bearers for the larger squads.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, and ALiVE support (faction names SEAL90 and SEALD90, for the Woodland and Desert versions of the faction respectively ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.

Notes-

A US Army ODA/ Special Forces 1990's may also be coming, but I'm not sure if people would want one- there was not much kit difference between the two groups at the time (while the SEALS are well known for the M60 during this time the Army also preferred the 7.62 M60 to the then-new M249 SAW, according to some info I got from some guys, so I was thinking of giving the Army DCU/ 3 colour desert instead of 6 colour desert to differentiate them a bit, as well as having the 1st Special Forces Group shoulder insignia's.

SMA-NIA Ammo Patch (Non-ACE version) released-

445CE7AAC73C70828AAB6DCA3D1F75EB7DDD8671

Adds support for NIA magazines, such as NIA STANAGS, EMAGS, PMAGS, HK STANAGS and Lancer transparent magazines in SMA 5.56 NATO firearms. The NIA magazines do not visually change in the SMA weapons for technical reasons, but functionality is just fine.
SMA mag support is kept for legacy reasons and to not cause backwards compatibility problems with units or missions using SMA ammo.

SMA 7.62 NATO weapons, such as the SCAR-H and HK417, can use their own SMA ammo or NIA FAL magazines, just for emergencies or inter-team magazine compatibility. This version does not support ACE3, there is another version that does.

Specific Requirements-
CBA_A3, NIA Core, NIA AR-15's, NIA FAL's, SMA Specialist Military Arms.

Download Link-

Notes- Identical to the last version, just not ACE dependant

SMA-NIA Magazine Patch (ACE Edition) updated-

20180728114740_1.jpg

This version supports ACE3, meaning you can use the HuntIR mini-drones as well as the ACE3 ammunition types but there is a non-ACE3 version available if you would rather use that.

Specific Requirements-
CBA_A3, NIA Core, NIA AR-15's, NIA FAL's, SMA Specialist Military Arms, ACE3.

Notes-

I expanded the ACE3 support from just support for HUNT-IR mini drones from the weapons with grenade launchers to also include support for ACE3 5.56 and 7.62 magazine types, for those of you who would prefer to use ACE3 ammo. This also makes the SMA/NIA weapons compatible with SPS weapon pack, as that uses ACE3 ammo as it's primary ammo type.

VSM content has been renamed to MLO for a requirement. Mod contents and keys are unchanged, so nothing on the server side needs updating for those of you who use keys.

I'm working on some new factions as well, but it's a bit slower than previously, so I'll update as they are further developed and I have some concept units ingame.

Special Forces Faction, CUP version [SFF-C] that adds the Provisional Irish Republican Army to Arma 3.

Historical Info

The IRA are a Republican paramilitary organisation formed to establish an independant Ireland from Britian, and have been active since before the first World War. This mod is more focused on the 1983 to late 1990's time period, and their conflicts with British Armed Forces during that time.

The Faction

The general Provisional forces will use anything they can get their hands on, from civilian clothing, guerrilla gear or mixed camo captured or purchased from the black market. Darker colours and Woodland or DPM camo's are very common. Weapons used by the IRA vary, but M16A1's and M16A2's, AK and VZ-58's as well FN FAL's are common, supported by PKM's, bolt action rifles and submachineguns like the Scorpion and UZI. Many of these weapons were obtained from overseas via the black market in the US, Libya and the Middle East, as well as firearms from Europe or the UK.

Sidearms are not standardised, but revolvers, M1911's and Makarovs are all used, with the RPG-18 and RPG-7 being their primary AT weapons. M60 7.62 machineguns are in limited use in the IRA, being in use after after 1978.

Specialist Elements

IRA Veteran forces are better equipped and trained compared to the regular IRA fighters, and have better access to ex-British equipment like camo, body armour and have heavier weapons like the FN MAG and Strela AA missile.

Supports

The IRA forces are backed by Medical, Anti-Tank and Command/HQ Elements as well as a sniper spotter team.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio, VCOM AI and ALiVE support (faction name IRA ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.

Notes

I have been wanting to make a Western equipped insurgency for a while now, and the recent CUPdate that added a range of older gear like M16A1's as well as older style DPM gear was really handy for this. Some of the gear had to be placeholdered/ replaced with different models for gameplay reasons (for example, the police reports I was using as sources say they only had M60's, not M60E4's, but those are not in CUP and I did not want to pile on extra dependencies for a single weapon) but it should still be pretty decent for a general representation.

The mod, as usual, has full ACE3, ALiVE, TFAR, VCOM AI, ASR AI support.

Hello, as a person who have done my research on IRA, PIRA and other IRA related armies (equipment wise) will i have to tell you that the modern vests and gearing your PIRA units have is wrong. I have seen the comment on steam that said this: "Nice! Good to see an actually decent IRA instead of some masked AK dude." This is completely wrong! They were indeed masked AK dudes, and it is the masks that give us the IRA, PIRA etc. feeling.

Since i want to help you to get some stuff right have i collected some pictures of PIRA soldiers between the years 1985-1999 to match your mods setting. I hope we can see some masked AK dudes and of course more dudes with mask.

As you can see, they all use masks, you can see a UZI, mg42, FN MAG, RPG-7, M16/AR-15, Browning 50 cal and PM md. 63/65(Or just a simple AK with grip)

EDIT- removed the majority of the Mk3 armour (it's still present, but much rarer) and have replaced them with either PASGT body armour, chest rigs, bandoleers or ALICE rigs. Also added a whole bunch of balaclavas.

Uzis, AK's, FN MAGS, RPG-7's, M16A1/ AR-15's and a few non-Soviet AK's are all already in the mod units and part of the faction. I could not find a MG42 without adding extra dependencies- While I did think about the MG3 as a standin/replacement I decided not to as the MAG/ PKM/ M60 are already 7.62  MG's in the faction.

Yep, I do. I've done a few before and they are included in the Community Faction Project ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1369691841 ) , but might be doing some additional standalone factions, like the 90's SEALS and the IRA, using CUP, I've already got a collection link for the series on my Workshop here (https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1704626946) . My plan is to hopefully go on to have some actual new groups that are CUP specific or more CUP conversions in the same way I did NIA / RHS conversions of factions I have done previously.

Thank you for the answer, i do like the randomized unit when spawning one, but i just don't get an PIRA feeling, the vest shouldn't be there at all, the hats shouldn't be there and some other gears shouldn't be there. I have no idea why your units randomize, is it CUP? But if you figure a way to make them randomize so they match PIRA pictures, you might get the most accurate IRA related mod!

Irish Republican Army updated-

20190410110231_1.jpg

20190410104936_1.jpg

-Added SPG9 static gun

-Added M2 50. Cal static gun

-Added DsHKM static gun

-Added Dirt Bike, Quad Bike, Land Rover and Land Rover armed (M2) as vehicles to the faction.

-Added some more infantry units, like additional rifleman variants as well as an IED Specialist

-Removed the majority of Mk3 body armour from the faction. It's still present, but MUCH less common than before. It has been replaced with either more chestrigs and bandoliers for lighter units, or with older PASGT body armour or ALICE rigs. As a result they should be easier to kill overall.

-Greatly improved the number of balaclavas and face masks in the faction, from it being a rather rare item to something that is very common, but not on 100% of the units. Comes in 3-4 variants, black, green, 2 and 3 hole versions, depending on the individual unit.

-The text /information for the faction was also expanded slightly to reflect the new units and gear.

OPFOR FIA Overhauled (CUP Edition) released-

20190423114625_1.jpg

20190423113246_1.jpg

This mod is a total replacement of the OPFOR FIA forces, bringing them more in line with modern day equipment, weapons and uniforms.
It works in the official Arma 3 Campaign and custom scenarios that use the OPFOR FIA faction will be using the new faction as well.

The Faction

The FIA (Freedom and Independence Army) draws it's origins and name from the 1985 anti-Soviet resistance movement of the same name that fought in the Malden and Everon conflicts.
The modern FIA was established out of civilians and Altis Armed Forces defectors following a coup d'etat in the capital city of Kavala, causing a civil war between the FIA and AAF to break out.

This FIA insurgency cell is supported by CSAT forces, so is armed primarily with older Chinse Type 56's and AKM's as primary weapons, with the VZ-61 Scorpion and AKS-74-U used in some roles.
The standard support weapons are the PKP, civilian hunting rifles, SVD and RPG-32 and the fighters wear mostly Desert Digital camo mixed in with civilian and geurilla clothing, as well as ex-Soviet body armor, helmets and other equipment. Standard sidearms are the Makarov, PMM or VZ-61 Scorpion.

Supports

The OPFOR FIA units are supported primarily by re-purposed and camouflaged civilian vehicles, including technicals and trucks.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, MCC and ALiVE support (faction name OPF_G_F ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.
It totally replaces the OPFOR OPFIA faction in Editor, Zeus, ALiVE and all scenarios played when the mod is enabled.

CSAT are a complete bastard to replace, due to the fact that the helicopter transport crates are considered something that count's as 'infantry' in ALiVE. That's also the reason that there was not a NIA version, as the crates broke the replacement pack, so I'll give Modern CSAT CUP Edition a shot but it might not work, not sure yet.

The standard support weapons are the PKM, FN FAL and RPG-32 and the fighters wear mostly M81 Woodland camo mixed in with civilian and geurilla clothing, as well as ex-American body armor, helmets and other equipment. Standard sidearms are the M1911 or VZ-61 Scorpion.

Supports

The INDEP FIA units are supported primarily by re-purposed and camouflaged civilian vehicles, including technicals and trucks.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, MCC and ALiVE support (faction name IND_G_F ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.
It totally replaces the INDEP FIA faction in Editor, Zeus, ALiVE and all scenarios played when the mod is enabled.

Notes

I've always seen the AAF / INDEP FIA as a really cool faction that was portrayed ingame as badly equipped and trained, but that's not really something that comes across with their gear very well, and they have access to large numbers of good body armour, LMG's like the Mk200 / KAC / LSAT and the F2000 as a primary rifle.

What I went with here was something that was overtly NATO aligned, but with small elements of older ex-Soviet weapons (like the PKM as a standard LMG) to make them sound different in distant combat for ID purposes compared to a pure NATO force. I've used older Interceptor body armour, as well as chest rigs and ALICE rigs alongside M81 Woodland because it keeps the deep green tone of the AAF while matching a more contemporary low/medium poorer army well. The UN helmets and hats were used for a bit of spot colour, and to help the faction stand out a bit compared to other M81 wearing factions. The FN FAL is used a DMR/ marksman rifle to replace the M14, and the standard sidearms remain the M1911, with small numbers of VZ's as PDW's.
