[WIP] Map Tarin Kowt [UPDATE PICTURE 19/12/16]

Hi,

I currently working on a new map called Tarin Kowt, in Afghanistan and i want to show you some progress regularly within this thread.

Several objects i have permission from, will be used in the map.


And if you have any thoughts or feedback, please share it right here.

Afghan maps are my favorite maps. :) Nice photos!

 

Hopefully we'll get some poppy fields on this bad boy (I love how pretty they are and they make regular fields a lot more fun to patrol though).

That's a good point Hero^^ 

 

Can we get higher grass and vegetation. What I mean by this is like waist/shoulder high grass/grain. Similar to the stuff you see on Bornholm.

Yes, in some places I can get that kind of taller grass :)

Holy shit dude. Looks awesome so far. Seems like it will be a great environment. I always liked the lush river valleys. I really like the foliage, the layout of the settlements, and of course those awesome caves. This could turn out to be a beautiful and faithful sandbox for afghan-war themed operations. Good luck with this project. I'll be keeping my eyes on it, it looks very promising.

thanks, i have not been there, but I am seeing many videos and photos of the area and I try to make it more similar than the game and the addons that I use allow me to do

Yes, it is possible, I have to study what are the requirements for Alive to work on my map and then when I have almost ready the map would give you support Alive

Awesome! :)

 

The map just needs to be indexed once you have all of the buildings finalized. ALiVE has a built in tool for this, though it requires Mikero's tools and a few additional steps.

If you get hung up on the process, come on over to the ALiVE forums and one of the devs can give you a hand.

This looks great! I like how you made the urban areas look lived-in with actual objects like the powerlines, fruit stands and so on. Also nice mix of lush and desert areas
