Unpacking CUP addons/using them in a map issues

Recommended Posts

EDIT 5:  I got it loaded into arma with the CUP building!  Fantastic!  All my questions were answered in other places I just had to read for like 4-5 hours!  haha

EDIT 4:  Never, ever, ever, ever use something other than ExtractPBO from Mikero's tools to do this or you'll get a screwed up directory structure!  Make sure you extract ALL the CUP pbos

EDIT 3:  Previous thread in edit 2 was helpful.  But it looks like you need to extract basically all of the .pbo files in the addons folder of CUP core terrain for it to work!  Now I'm going to try loading it into the game engine and see if it works.  I think I just have to change the addons in my config file

EDIT 2:  Found this thread with the full directory structure of what some CUP map makers are using.  gonna work on this:  https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/186898-how-to-switch-terrain-over-to-cup/

EDIT:  Still having issues but I think I figured out maybe the problem...  I have to extract all of the CUP files in order for one to work...  makes sense...  but I still can't figure out how to get the directory structure right...

Hey all,

I'm having some problems with the CUP mod and unpacking it.  I am teaching myself to do it using forum posts and tutorials but I've reached an impasse.

So far I've only unpacked the cup_ca_buildings.pbo.  To preserve the directory structure so that it would work I put it in a folder called ca\structures

Everything seems to line up properly (directory wise) when I look at my .rvmat files.

I import the folder as a library (recursively) into TB and place a few buildings, then I open Bulldozer.

I can see bulldozer load the buildings onto the map, but invariably I get a popup in the middle of bulldozer saying "Cannot load texture ca/data ..." with various textures in there depending on what building I've placed. This popup has a "close" button on it, but clicking on it does nothing and I can't get the popup to go away.  I also checked and all my textures appear to be in the correct directory.  I opened them up with texview2 and they look fine.

So my questions:  Is there a way to close this popup?  Is this a big problem for my terrain if it says it's not loading these textures?  Why is this happening?  Is there a more complete tutorial for upacking the CUP mod that I may have overlooked?  (I've spent considerable time trying to find one or I wouldn't have posted here.)

Thank you for any help!
