Overthrow is a dynamic single player/co-op multiplayer revolution simulator campaign built for ARMA 3 Apex. Start in a small village with nothing in a small town and fight your way to remove the occupying NATO forces from Tanoa.
 
It was inspired by the great times we had playing the original "Antistasi" dynamic campaign.
 
We would love you to help us test our mod, and help guide future development.

Do you have plans for Altis edition?

 

And is it just me or Ovethrow Tanoa is a bit too heavy performance-wise right now? Comparing to Antistasi at least.

v0.6.0 is now out!
 

- New: Store your current loadout or restore a saved one at any ammobox
- New: Build warehouses at captured towns and objectives, store/retrieve items while inside a vehicle and nearby. Warehouse contents are global.
- New: Import and export just about any item at the 2 major ports in Tanoa. Just drive up to the marked building in a vehicle.
- New: Build Barracks at captured objectives
- New: Recruit equipped soldiers at Barracks, items taken from warehouse if available
- New: Recruit entire squads at Barracks, items taken from warehouse if available, command them with HC bar
- New: Place safes, anyone may store and retrieve money from them, owner can set optional password for retrieval
- Improved: Many more items added to shops and gun dealers
- Improved: Some slight performance improvements but nothing huge
- Tweaked: Cars will no longer over-fill, trucks and ammoboxes will
- Tweaked: Players now lose 25% of their money on death (multiplayer only)

Do you have plans for Altis edition?

 

And is it just me or Ovethrow Tanoa is a bit too heavy performance-wise right now? Comparing to Antistasi at least.

We do have plans for other maps but not in the short term as we want to give Tanoa our complete attention.

Performance should be slightly better in the new version but still has a way to go, and will definitely include Headless support in the 0.6.x cycle

- New: 'Procure' vehicles at warehouses and controlled objectives. Just press Y.
- New: Procure civilian air vehicles at controlled airfields
- Tweaked: NATO presence is now stronger at airfelds
- Tweaked: Controlling all NATO objectives on an island will drop stability on that island fast
- Tweaked: Removing all criminal camps on an island will raise stability on that island fast
- Tweaked: Tax income from controlled towns was increased
- Improved: Rewrite of spawner, huge performance gains across the board
- Fixed: Various items would not display in warehouse

  • Tweaked: A town is now considered "Anarchy" if the resistance has no police present
  • Fixed: Icons not showing in various situations
  • Fixed: "Sell 1" and "Sell All" would sometimes take other items
  • Fixed: Tax/Lease Income would stall if you had buildings leased
  • Tweaked: All rents and buy/sell prices
  • Improved: More optimizations for spawner and dedicated servers
  • Fixed: Could transfer items into flags, buildings etc
  • Fixed: Killing NATO and/or crims would count as kiling civilians

yeah... it would be awesome if ACE would be optional, and maybe have like a respawn system for the SP version of some sort, kinda annoying that each time you did or get shot and dont have medical supplies to heal and then die of bleeding, that you have to restart the mission :/

 

AI in Arma tends to have a insane accuracy and they dont really get affected by being suppressed either :/

Hi crazychris, the AI in overthrow will revive you using ACE if they have epinephrine.

VCOM AI (included) also added suppression mechanics for both the player and AI in a recent update.

ACE is heavily integrated and would require us having to provide many of it's features ourselves if it was no longer a required mod. Also the only people who seem to complain about it being required are those that have not tried the mission yet ;)

oh.. i've tried the mission a few hours ago, i really enjoyed it, awesome work :D

 

normally you fight with NATO, when it comes to these types of missions, but now however, you are against them, which makes it very interesting and fun, but as other as stated, it would be awesome if we had the ability to have other enemies, or chose the enemy side :)

 

for me ACE is more like a mod that can only be played with other people, and not for your self, unless you make your self un-killable :P but then its no fun haha, might just be me tho. haven't played Arma in ages, so my skills might be rusty haha :P

I like the mission but but I cant use radio menu 6 and 7 to command my civilians. I would like them to go prone or copy my stance when attacking Nato. How can I control my troops movements.

This looks like a great idea!

 

That intro music is very nice, i was looking for my ganja as i was jamming to it. Great tunes! Dam where is my weed, I forgot where i placed it! hate when that happens!

 

side note, bunny wailer doesn't get enough love from bob marley and the wailers albums (bob, peter, bunny). If that's the version your using. I believe it is.

 

Perhaps you could use this in your sequel. lol.

I have an issue. When I started dedicated server after joining there is no Overthrow mission to select at the voting screen.

I've loaded required mods. Added them as startup parameters.

I've just started playing this mod, really fun! However I have some questions, I've tried to google but it seems no one else have these questions ?

 

How is do you capture towns? I have a town that is in anarchy but I have no idea how to capture it and make it mine! 

 

And how do you sell weapons and stuff? I have a billion guns now and thought I'd sell some because I only have around $400 aaaaaaaaaaall the time, but no one wants to buy stuff, in fact I haven't found anyone to sell stuff to!

To help you get started:

  • You need to maintain a presence in the town to re-build stability. You can do this yourself, with recruited AI, or by building a Police station (if you have funds!). Having control over the local radio tower also helps, as it will play calming reggae musics to the villagers.
  • Selling weapons is a little harder - you need to control one of the ports on the map. The closest one to the starting location is at Lijnhaven. In the early game, you will find selling things like rangefinders, radios, morphine, etc to local shopkeepers much more profitable. There is also a market for illegal items such as ganja/blow - buy low and sell high! Real estate can be quite lucrative, buy when stability is low and watch your rental income soar once things have calmed down again. Having said all of that, you probably want to buy a warehouse and stockpile your guns there - you will need them when you start arming your revolutionary army!
