We're maybe more expecting features than content for this specific DLC.

Not that I mind getting some new content. :) It's nice to see that we're getting the Armata.

I assume the Tanks DLC will be similar to Jets in the sense that it adds new vehicles with a more specialised purpose, but what would the purpose of these new tanks be?

The tank from the video looks like it might be some kind of light tank, but I though most modern militaries abandoned the concept of light/medium/heavy tanks for universal MBTs.

Actually, is that a T-14 Armata?

Maybe this is the wrong place to post this. But with new tanks. Has anyone asked do we get new ways to defeat them? Other launchers, Rockets or Mines.

It is. :) I think that the new tanks will be frontline MBTs, with better capabilities than what we have now. I don't know what BIS is planning, but they might have nice stuff like being able to fire missiles through the main gun barrel.

T72, T80. T90 tanks can already fire missiles via the main gun barrel.

Maybe will see the railgun tank that was shown in the Alpha :f:

None of which are in ArmA3 outside mods, while T100 lacks a missile system. Armata, on the other hand, should definitely have that capability.

T-14...... Thats whats i was expecting, thats what i love, thats why i install this game again. Together with words of Jay, they will improve handling i can imagine this game with corrected physx and fomration keeping, what will be totally enough form me, and i think they will give us some more... "improvements" ;)

Yes you are right, features are more important than new tanks, as the new models will add nothing to gameplay just different visuals.

Maybe is more important to add an AA tank for the independent side. And change the AA tanks turrets as there is no difference between the actual Cheetah and Tigris. Also creating interiors for the tanks or add the hability to Turn out the head out of the actual vehicles because driving the Tanks in first person right now is a complete pain!

You can apply the same logic with the Jets DLC. As long as you can customise the missiles in every plane there is no need to introduce new models because you will be able to make a loadout configuration that fits your objectives in every situation.

Railgun Tanks... In my opinion it would end being very artificial... I don't like the Idea.

Well the game needs for Bluefor and Independents an unguided RPG like Csat. Also Csat needs some PCML equivalent. Also there shold be another difference between Bluefor and Indie PCML's.

Because its just artwork (pretty much identical perspective). Hex camo overlay over existing images and modified. Not a model. So that guarantees nothing. It could look totally different in the end. It is almost a year before targeted release, its very unlikely that they work on the models already.

That might have been true if it wheren't for this second picture:

Screen%20Shot%202017-03-24%20at%2008.36.

That is a second artwork of the T-14 which makes it appearance more possible.

That asside I wonder if they will use the 125 mm standard issue gun or the experimental 152 mm gun

152mm would give it a purpose, which isn't already done by the current CSAT tank.

So according to the DLC page it's 3 new armored vehicle - so amata 14 .....and? They do seem to be stressing "asymmetric" so curious if the 3 vehicles aren't all tanks. Would like to see new APC/IFV variants. Three vehicles seems a little bit thin but hey... I'll buy anything to support BIS;-)

Tanks is focus. Considering they opt for quality over quantity (for example Planes DLC will feature 3 - 4 planes) I don't think they have man power

to do tanks and IFV. So 3 tanks for each side seem on par with current and previous dlc quantity. Deviating from tanks would put refactoring

tankX physics system and other tank drawbacks at risk I'm afraid.

I would say that just like with other DLCs they release something old and something new. Since we already know about the T-14 which is quite new, I guess Ihave an idea about the old one:

I have high hopes. In scaning horizon they mentioned "Improved handling". Which is good way to start shaping tank dlc.

The Arma 3 Tanks DLC (est. Q1 2018) will build on the experience of armored combat in Arma 3 by delivering three new armored vehicles, new playable content, and more. The package will be accompanied by a free platform update, which will implement new features and improvements related to tracked and armored vehicles.  http://steamcommunity.com/games/arma3/announcements/detail/500303861686556700

The release of the DLC Tank is scheduled for next year. I hope that the current problems will be solved now.

I don't think there's much hope for that. They will start adding tank-centered improvements once the way is clear to Tanks DLC. Right now, they've got Jets, Orange, Tac Ops and Malden in the pipeline first. Their schedule already slipped compared to the original roadmap (Jets were supposed to come out in Q1 and Orange in Q2, but now we're getting Jets sometime in May and Orange in Q3), so I wouldn't expect work on tank-specific stuff to start anytime soon. We've only got FCS because it's tied to Sensors Overhaul from Jets DLC more than anything else.

These problems are not related to the upcoming DLC. These problems are not related to Arma3, in the first stage.
I'm not going to support DLC with a dubious prospect of fixing Arma3 problems.

The problems are age since the release of Arma3, and the prospect is expected for another year. The release of DLC does not "color problems in a different color" and give the game the expected perspective of the desired.

Actually, you'll get your fixes for free. BIS us just unlikely to focus on this until it's time to overhaul tank gameplay. Jets also didn't get much in terms of fixes until DLC started closing in. Now they're focusing on that particular area of gameplay. When the other DLCs are out, they will be able to focus on tanks. Fixing tank physics (just like jet physics) is a nontrivial problem that will require a lot of time and effort to solve.

The responsibility for issuing corrections paid for Arma3 is not the place for the phrase "free fixes". Otherwise, As soon as you pay DLC, all corrections will be free and unprofitable)))

The purchase of DLC depends on the level of fixes in the current base Arma3 for all DLCs.

Please understand me correctly. I'm not trying to discredit anyone. The most significant correction of Arma3 is the release of arma3_x64. I understand that it took a long time. Most likely, this caused a shift in the DLC release schedule. For this reason, I signed up for DLC and most likely will pay for the DLC. Such an approach to the problem and a compromise should be. I'll wait longer for the release of DLC, than getting it on time but with problems.
