opteryx 1562 Posted September 25, 2016 Dunno if there are any other paleofauna fans here, but this project is looking really promising! "We are Saurian, an independent game project who's goal is to provide the most captivating dinosaur experience ever developed for commercial gaming by recreating the Hell Creek ecosystem of 66 million years ago through the Unity 3D Game engine, giving the player the first true chance to live like a dinosaur." Saurian Kickstarter Trailer Some pics: http://saurian.maxmediacorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/rjpalmer_dakotaraptor_jane_001_by_arvalis-d9ev6ij-1024x390.jpg http://orig11.deviantart.net/c0b7/f/2016/145/c/b/dakotaraptor_growth_cycle_by_arvalis-da3rx2v.jpg http://saurian.maxmediacorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/rjpalmer_sizechart_wip_001_by_arvalis-da0m0v6.jpg http://67.media.tumblr.com/dfd3653ea0619ffa8b20ddc754a896e8/tumblr_nw6rzi0yP31uujqb8o1_1280.jpg Realistically feathered dromaeosaurs? YIKES! Am really looking forward to this.

opteryx 1562 Posted September 25, 2016 Can't stand that feather theory...making poor Trex sport that rug is just insufferable Tyrannosaurus almost certainly had feathers, I actually kinda find T. rex even more ferocious with plumage.
bigpoppablunts 53 Posted September 25, 2016 There is a game similar to this concept on Steam called The Isle. Didn't hear nice things about the devs so I left it alone. Saurian looks great though.
ProfTournesol 956 Posted September 25, 2016 There was no dinosaurs, the allmighty God took a lump of clay, and suddenly Adam and Eve appeared. Nope ?
dmarkwick 261 Posted September 26, 2016 There was no dinosaurs, the allmighty God took a lump of clay, and suddenly Adam and Eve appeared. Nope ? Easier to simulate, but a rather boring game :)
the_noob 88 Posted September 26, 2016 I like the focus on a realistic reconstruction of those beings, but I'm not sure if most people will actually like these "oversized birds", the Hollywood interpretation as seen in Jurassic Park is seen as much cooler. ;p It will also not be the only dinosaur/survival game out there, but it's nice to see some differentiation. froggyluv 2133 Posted September 27, 2016 Easier to simulate, but a rather boring game :) Depends. If they added War in Heaven it could be interesting - Demons vs Angels (no cupid) in every region of the Universe as well as influencing mankind (and other creations) torward good or heinous deeds. No God Mode would be a must..

Personally, I find the modern paleological consensus that all dinosaurs didn't become extinct (just the non avian ones) to be profoundly satisfying. I will buy the shit out of a game that reflects this. My 8 year old son went through his inevitable dino phase a couple of years ago, and I went right along with him.
