the SPAD isn't finished. Far from it actually. I threw it in anyway : )

the only new thing here is the comic camel

Recently started making my own proper aircraft in blender from scratch. This time it may actually work in the long run.

Some first impressions:

Spoiler

20170129185244_1.jpg

this was the first iteration, at least it flies. (It's supposed to resemble a Hansa Brandenburg seaplane)

20170214102940_1.jpg

2nd attempt, what a slightly higher detail mesh and a simple standard material can do : )

Still fighting some issues like mesh not being closed or high poly count. UV mapping is not so easy either.

A few more weeks and I may have something though : )

Too many bugs in the model, so I changed the aircraft and had a fresh start:

90099002D71C6151B0E02ADFF256793CDB3E4D24

Going a little better - fighting with nonclosed meshes which I need for the proper shadow LODs. It looks like I may manage though.

Blender can be fun once you get the hang of it : )

Working on a few more planes. Whichever works best will be the next addition

v1.25

I have added the balloons and hangars and things directly to this addon.

Also added a Junkers J7 (basically a 1 seater smaller version of the CL.I)

I forgot to add: you can change the Brisfits liveries in eden editor:

A81B868C2CAF2D82A991C2B8B3712D76CBD5F43B

I will adapt this feature for most of my planes to reduce some editor clutter. Probably once we have that new jet dlc loadout thing

Is anyone actually using this?  I am working on an upgraded version.

It won't require the aircraft library anymore.

Also some planes will be removed:

The Albatros Bs and Cs will be merged into one plane.

The Junkers 7 and Albatros D.s will be removed.

I will try to add some placeholders for the classnames -  but things could go wrong so better remove them from missions for the time being to be safe : )
