Russian army and HESCO barrier/bastion

1. It might be lost in time but HESCO bastions were originally created for construction not for military applications. The picture here is about construction I believe.

2. Corvinus, would you mind providing some URLs about HESCO bastions used by Russian military in any significant numbers?

The generic name for these barriers (wire mesh box filled with rock/gravel/sand) is "gabion", and they have been used extensively in civil engineering for 100+ years.

"HESCO Barriers" as they're known in the west were developed in the 80s and first commercially produced by a company from the united kingdom but the principle of a wire/metal/wood mesh container filled with earth and stone has been around since before the Napoleonic period their name in engineering is "gabion" so it's entirely likely that the Russians may use them but not call them "H-Barriers" but they will likely use this type of defence in some form or another.

And yet MoD tested them and buys them.

Obviously I wasn't talking about gabions made by HESCO company in particular, but rather about gabions in general.
