Beketov map, central Russia, 20x20 km

Map based in Russia would any part of it have some snow? 

You beat me on this..LOL... yap, what about a "winter" version? Would that be a pain?

Russia is super big you know... It's not all covered in snow. ^^'

We knows..that's why I suggested a Winter version... I bet around January it get snowy around central Russia. If not..sorry, my mistake.

I dont want it to be covered in snow , I am saying part of it should be similar to namalsk , Arma 3 needs something new like that!

Oh yeah - if it's Russia it HAS to have snow.  :lol: Why not add free-roaming ambient bear spawns who wear ushanka hats and swear all the time while we're at it!  :ph34r:

 

And vodka. And balalaika! Because Russia, right?  :wacko: (*sarcasm)

Seriously man...central Russia is about as north as northern Germany..and it does get snowy....from December to march...

IKR - had to get through that very snow for the past week or so. Juts that the initial request for the snow on the map was constructed as somewhat "stereotypical" so I got a bit butthurt  :lol:

YAP...i FEEL FOR YOU BUD..IT'S JUST A MATTERS OF WEEKS AND IT WILL GET ALL WHITE FOR MONTHS HERE TOO. :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

its ok boys I have a project in mind , I will remake Fallujah terrain for arma 3, since terrain has nothing to do with the environment or the location it would seem! My Fallujah will be winter edition (covered in snow) :D

 

PS: yes russia is famous for vodka because its bloody freezing cold and snowy out to do anything else ;-)

I just played it in editor for 5 mins walked around the main city it has a nice vibe to it, but my first impressions are that there are way too many fences that seem to prevent you getting to houses quickly or just lead to dead end, when you do get to those houses they are not enter-able :wacko:  !

Why use those houses when CUP has the same if not better enter-able ones? if it is performance then maybe the cities need to be little smaller ..

Latest arma update deleted some p3d model that Beketov uses. Loading the map now errors on missing:

a3\structures_f\ind\factory\factory_main_part2_f.p3d

As for the fences, (not only) on this map you really need @em (enhanced movement) mod, so you can climb. I replaced the "step over" key with it.

It's not a viable idea since there is no proper winter units and vehicles.

saw this terrain ages ago and enjoyed it, didnt realize it was still being worked on :P

There were some bugs and i'm sure they were critical. Now the most of bugs are defeated with a little help of the community, and i finally added some more details to the map.

In this version I added some shading to the sat texture. It depends on the heightmap and the landmass errosion. It should not affect a ground combat experience, but the land now looks little less poor from the aerial vehicle.
