Tasks. How to get number of assigned players?

With the new tasks, you can click on one of many tasks on the map and then "assign" yourself to it.  Other players can then see how many total players have been assigned to that task.

 

Is there a way to get the number of players assigned to a task through script commands?

You could try to use registeredTasks and iterate through all players.
