Stewart1AIB 10 Posted July 30, 2016 'Per Mare Per Terram' Who are we? We are a professional, multi-cultural community for Arma 3, who portray the British Royal Marine Commandos. We are the United Kingdom's Arctic specialists, and are trained in amphibious operations. Overall we are a group of friends, so we play other games outside of events. We are approximately 2 sections in strength, and a third is opening in the coming weeks, What do we offer? - A fun and friendly community of players, without any screaming instructors. - Open recruitment opportunities for various roles within our Infantry. - A developing in-house campaign, with long term goals and effects. - A unit lead by people with experience from various realism communities. - Our teamspeak is always open! (Address: 31.186.250.99:15870 ). Why join us? Our community strives for the most realistic and fun experience a person can have, we have varying amount of experience within our group, but all of our staff and non-commissioned officers have extensive knowledge on both Arma 3 and the real life military doctrine employed within our group. Unlike some groups, we don't employ the "Yes sir, no sir" nonsense however we do pride ourselves on having a high standard in which we play. Our events are realistic meaning our training is based off real life documents and our deployments persistent and not oversaturated. We are a friendly and diverse community and love showing the ropes to those who need it. We believe if you enjoy a realistic military simulations environment, an organised rank and command structure, as well as thorough training regime that will teach a recruit everything he needs to operate effectively within events and a Royal Marine Commandos themed milsim unit, this is the place for you. What mods do we use? We use a variety of mods such as Advanced Combat Environment 3 and Task Force Arrowhead Radio to give us the most realistic environment possible. We also use uniform and equipment modifications on top to give us the equipment we need to effectively operate as a British MilSim unit. As well as all this, we have a small team of in house modders that are constantly working on new equipment for members to use. Do you own a server? We currently run two game servers, one of which is for our phase trainings and home rotation events and the other one is for our fully persistent ALiVE campaign is which gives members something to do during the week and sharpen their skills by conducting patrols etc. We also host our own Arma 3 Sync to avoid as many mod issues as possible ensuring much smoother gameplay for our community. What does training consist of? Our training isn't simple. To weed out members that aren’t suitable for our community, we run a three week training course, the first week is designated ‘Phase 1’ and teaches the basics needed to operate effectively within our operations. The remaining two weeks is designated ‘Phase 2’ and teaches advanced drills and skills. The course happens on sunday at 19:30, although if a significant amount of recruits wish to conduct one of these sessions during the week, it’s fine. This ensures that all members are capable and we deter time wasters from applying. When are our events hosted? Our group is based around Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), therefore we regularly host events on the weekend, saturday and sunday at 19:30 GMT. These are our only mandatory events that we ask all our members to attend within reason. We do however have an Leave of Absence system that allows a member to miss an event if they have real life commitments during the times of our weekend events. We also run non-mandatory ‘mini-operations’ or ‘team vs team’ events during near the end of the week for those who wish to play during their free time. What specialist roles are we actively looking for? We are not prioritizing our detachments as a full troop is the main interest, those wishing to transfer must serve on infantry for a period: Maneuver Support Section (5 slots available - Commander wanted!) Commando Helicopter Force (5 slots available - Commander wanted!) 24 Royal Engineers (3 slots available - Commander wanted!) What are we particularly interested in? A mature and professional mindset. People that are capable of fulfilling leadership roles e.g. section commanding. Having a higher dedication to our community and it’s members. Ensuring you as a member will a enjoyable and professional experience. Along with the experience, we provide a realistic environment to play within. What’s our joining requirements? Possess a working microphone. Own a legal copy of Arma 3. Willing to download our mods. 16 years of age (Younger can be accepted with a probationary period.) Must be dedicated, mature and willing. Regards, 45 Commando, Royal Navy Recruitment Office.
