@jackco , thanks for the help! I fixed the error at startup, should work better now.

 

As for the airborne stopping game. I'm not sure, maybe it's just laggy?

 

You should have uptodate arma version when playing this mission. I have 1.74.142559

thx fix...I have same arma version and I tested 1.72 too and feel this worked little bit better

I tested and work much better but couple of mystery...

i spawned new group and go to waypoint with units,get messages
'contact lost with the enemy' and all friendly units my group lost....they spawned  somewhere without player?

the group despawned because there was no enemy near.

New release!

 

What's new:

  • better map markers for non-Com. More info from hover over
  • unit's skill now increases when fighting (stars show unit skill)
  • new researchable: Advanced training - allows more skill for recruited units
  • AI now does researches
  • changed AI buying so that AI buys varieties of units and not just the best
  • bug fixes / improvements

Issues:

  • Sometimes there is error messages regarding artillery firing.
  • helicopters sometimes behave bit oddly or get stuck for example.
  • Sometimes the vehicle spawing fails to find proper spawn position and vehicles may explode etc.
  • other minor things

This mission is still in beta so bugs may occur.
Despite the issues the mission should still be playable.

I really like this concept.  I think it's a great idea and really needed for arma3. I have not seen anything like this so thanks a lot for your time and efforts.  I know many don't come on here to say thanks but ask for more.  But really thanks.  Wish you the best in this design.

 

I just found this last night and started a mission.  Its really challenging to learn how to use it.  Do you have a guide?

 

Have you thought about adding any coop to this?

 

Say a 4 man team of players to take spots?

 

Are you going to expand the area of conflict?

 

Could you explain how the ai commander works?

 

Some things to consider.  Different levels and types of ai commanders.  Aggressive vs defensive vs mix.  May be only 2 sides and concour the map type mission.

 

Another map?  

 

Good luck. I wish I had the coding skills like this.  I would like to make something like this.

Unfortunately no... there's short tutorial when you start the mission though. I need to make tutorial page for my site :)

Sorry to say but I have no plans on adding multiplayer because it takes a lot of time to do it. The project has grown quite large and that makes it difficult to add multiplayer.

The commander buys units which some are ordered to defend base/town and some units are send to attack and capture towns. The AI also does researches which give bonus effects for the AI's side.

That's a nice idea, I'll keep that in mind... Yes 2 sides is possible maybe I put that in startup dialog so you can choose between 2-3 sides.

Right now I'm only releasing this on one map because it would take some time to maintain the mission on multiple maps...
