Binarize and Buldozer woes

I've felt very smug up until now. Throughout all the game updates my Armatools

have behaved well. Not any more...

 

Since the last update I can't get Buldozer to run properly, all I see is

a black box with a white border before I get a timeout error message.

 

Pointing Object Builder at the Arma3.exe instead of Buldozer.exe I lose all the textures

despite the texture path in ObjectBuilder being set to the P:\ Drive.

 

Worse still if I Binarize my addon with AddonBuilder my .rtm files get corrupted

big time with the 'Thing Syndrome'. If I don't Binarize they are fine.

 

I've also tried with *.rtm included and removed from the list of files to copy directly.

 

Additionally, an older addon that uses the same .rtm files and was binarized

with the previous release is still OK.

 

Just to be clear: everything worked fine until the last update.

I've reinstalled the tools but to no avail.

 

Did something major change with the tools on the last update I'm not aware of?

Hello,

 

I'm about to release a new version of Binarize (probably tomorrow or Tuesday), I'd rather wait for it and run some tries with the new version before jumping into any debug process

 

The update will be on the development branch only.

Well I'm still getting this whenever I binarize. Don't laugh, it's not funny.

I'm so mad I could strangle a chicken.

 

I've got the OFP2manskeleton in my anims folder and that has always done the trick previously

any wild guess for a possible solution appreciated

I've lost the zoom ability since the last update, as well.

Also getting this in the rpt.

I think I'm getting closer to the problem I'm having with the animations.

 

Having reinstalled the game and the tools with no improvement I

asked the nice chaps at 3CB to try and binarize one of my addons.

 

They had the same corruption as I do with Armatools but a better result with PboProject.

 

So I updated the free version of Mikero's PboProject and tried that ...

MakePbo failed at the first attempt with this error:

 

From the DOS window:

pbo: reqaddons. could not find a cfgpatches class for p3d file refs

 

From the BINLOGS:

ERROR: there is no config.bin/cpp found for \proxies\blx_commando\driver.p3d

It's addon name cannot be determined

 

However, if I turn off "rebuild requiredAddons[]=" in PboProject Setup the build is successful

 

Any thoughts?

Glad we were able to help cleggy.

 

I built it with the free version of pboProject, no problem. But it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the paid version and sometimes we notice differences in whether one or other finds errors at build time.

Thanks for the reply and the help Apollo.

 

Even tho' I have something of a solution, what irks me is that I don't know WHY I have a solution,

or WHY I have a problem with certain settings enabled.

 

Why is Binarize so interested in my object builder crew proxy paths all of a sudden?

Never had a problem prior to game update 1.6xx.

 

Still, I won't go on about it ... much.

I am having the same problems.  I managed to fix the RTM problem by using an RTM that was previous binned... e.g. a 13k RTM failed with that strange stretch problem.  The 3k RTM I extracted from a previously binned PBO works.

 

Also, my Buldozer is completely blank, nothing at all, even after numerous removal / reinstall attempts.

On a lark I decided to remove the -nologs from the buldozer command line.  Here is my result.  I removed the -noland switch and found that I can move the camera view all around:

RESOLVED!   I did some searching online.  Others had the same problem and had to remove the old data from the registry for objectbuilder... once removed, I reinstalled again and it now works... go figure!  It seems that uninstalling the old version does NOT uninstall the old version...

 

I caution anyone against deleting registry keys... best to export it, then delete it in case it goes wrong.  BE CAREFUL!  If you're not sure, then don't do it.

 

The key to delete is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bohemia Interactive\Object Builder

 

Once I deleted and reinstalled, O2 did its "first install thing" and I ran the A3 tools buldozer configurator tool.  Suddenly it works.
