Dimrose 23 Posted June 3, 2016 Has anyone seen or know of a way to prevent a player from firing at a specific part of the map when they use the artillery computer from a artillery vehicle or mortar?
sarogahtyp 1104 Posted June 3, 2016 I would set a fired EH on each arty and if a bullet is fired checking if its position is inArea every 0.3 seconds and if it is just delete the bullet.
Greenfist 1863 Posted June 3, 2016 I agree with sarogahtyp, except that inArea would also catch bullets flying over the area. So a simple distance from center check would be better. Also, is deleting the bullet really enough? Why not return it to the sender? _projectile setVelocity (velocity _projectile vectorMultiply -1.01); :icon_twisted:
kylania 567 Posted June 3, 2016 Isn't there some kind of friendly fire safety zone function? Maybe adapt that? Actually, no! Greenfist's return-to-sender idea is clearly the best way to approach this!
Dimrose 23 Posted June 3, 2016 Thanks! Think I will make options for both. One to prevent a task from being too easy and the other for dealing with the TKers firing at base. Appreciate the quick response!
