Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions

Recommended Posts

Hi...

Yeah - that does sound odd - so after subscribing - did you see them download - massive amount of content - might take a while... You could check your ArmA directory and see if the files are physically there ? I know it gets a little confusing sometimes for me as well as I maintained two repositories - one for STEAM and one for SIX...

Scott

Hi, I would highly suggest you download and load only CBACUP Core and IFA3_AIO_LITE.

AIO - All in One, in other words everything you need would be in this pack. Mods you have loaded are mostly made for people and server hosts who want to use part of the mod like terrains or units etc.

If it's not working try and repair mods.

Thanx for the info.

I think right now my biggest issue is that nothing from STEAM WORKSHOP is showing up.  I do see that it was downloading through STEAM....but nothing, even after restarting.  None of the STEAM content is visible anywhere in game or on my PC...????

If you downloaded what Jaki Suggested, and still dont see the content on your computer from steam you need to run the arma3launcher.exe from your arma3 directory go to the mods tab

and wait for IFA3 to complete the installation process.

Once its done then go here--->  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\!Workshop

and @IFA3_AIO_LITE should be there.

To all,

I hate to ask a question thats probably been asked a hundred times already, but does anyone know where to find a list of all the correct (current) classnames?  I've found pieces around the internet, but can't find a current comprehensive list.

Thanks,

Fire

I don't know about a full list but if you hover your mouse over a unit in the editor it should show the class name for that unit

Thank you and yes, and you can do it with cursorObject also, but I'm putting together random arrays for equipment, weapons, and clothing spawns so those methods take awhile.

I found this:  https://native-network.net/forum/thread/4778-auflistung-classnames-für-iron-front-1944-lite-ifa3lite/    but they translated some of the class names and I'm not certain if they will work. If there isn't a current list available, I'll just go through what I have little bits at a time and see what names are will work and which won't.

Can also export classes from the editor to notepad, but as far as I know thats just one unit loadout at a time, so thats still pretty time consuming also.

@FireWalker:

AFAIK the 3DEN Enhanced Mod allows you to get all the unit names of a faction if you right-click one unit of this faction and select "copy faction classes" in the dropdown menu.  You can then paste it in a text file outside of ARMA or use it in the Editor directly.  Won't help you for every single uniform bit, but at least you'll have all the soldier classnames ready in an instant.  And probably, though I never tried if that works, this mod allows you to export all the loadouts of a group, maybe - lez check it out, I'd say!

Hope that helps at least a bit...

Ok, that test was a quick one!

I can put any group in Editor or equip a custom group, and then I select from the top menu bar:

Tools - 3DEN Enhanced Tools - Loadout Tools - Export Loadout

So if all you want is the default classnames of groups and their inventory in IFA3, this should get you going real quick!

For anyone looking for a persistent WW2 campaign, I created a campaign on Neaville.  We've had a blast with it the last week on our own dedi.  Uses IFA3, Faces of War, GEIST, and IFA Liberation.  Really impressed with the amount of WW2 assets available now in ARMA.  Great job to all the modders.

Did you compile that?

Its from a list TayUK, myself,TomZ, and kju had a hand in it back in 2013/2014, but in more detail the following classnames are for

Iron Front standalone game, but the classnames should still work if i'm not mistaken.

From Iron front Fan forums, TakUK posted all the classnames, and I organized it, added underlines, bold, and bullets to all of them, and then added more stuff on the 2nd page.

Ok. I had a gut feeling that you had a hand in it!! Thank you!!

I continued with the method Tourist mentioned and I am cross referencing to the list you posted. I have OpFor and BluFor sides done. I will be doing Independent tonight. I'll plan on doing some organizing and checking against your list, and send you all the text files I create (if they have additional items) so that you have them if you need them. I'm only doing units. Not vehicles.

Beefed up the FW and did the P-39, including their machine guns and cannons. Now included:

  • Various engine sounds for various distances
  • Wind sounds when flying
  • "G-Force" rumbling when in high-G situations
  • Rattling of the plane when in high-G situations
  • Both external and internal rain effects

This is excellent news, .kju! Seems you have worked on the flight model too, which is great. Just a few days ago I started putting together a ground attack escort/dogfight mission for IFA but realized I can't test it properly, because Jets DLC wrecked the flight models on the planes so they have become almost unflyable (nose pulling down, weird stalling etc.)

When this update comes out, I can get back to tweaking my mission, so a big thankyou for your work in advance. And the new sounds are really beefy, btw. Tally ho! :icon_cool:

Hi guys,

Absolutely adoring the mod at the moment, having great fun using it with C2 to boss my squad around. Just one thing that I have noticed that i don't think is a bug;

Once you tell an assistant gunner to deploy a tripod for any of the MG's, they can't pick it back up again via an order. They can't assemble the weapon either. It's nothing major as I tend to juat pick up the tripod and haul it myself, but just thought I would mention it.

Thanks for all the hard work though, guys!

First off, thanks to all who have contributed to this fantastic mod, especially .kjo.

I have a question; I can't get the vehicle identification numbers to appear on the sides of tanks and APC's in game. They do not appear either in the Eden 3D editor when I place units prior to a mission or when I add units using Zeus during the mission. This also applies to the Kubelwagen registration/number plate. Does anyone know of a solution?
