Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions

Hey guys,
I hope that has not been reported below. If so I'm sorry. And if its not a problem but I just do something wrong, sorry aswell. 

My Problem is simple:
Missions with an overcast and rain are way to bright.

All are Full Overcast and Full rain, no Fog though. However, it does look like sunshine. (The sky is blocked by clouds but still)
Obviously no other mod than the latest IFA3 Lite.

This kinda break my mission ideas :-P

WOW Manual rebolting for the rifles!!!!!

Nice job guys! That seriously added immersion to a whole nother level, can anyone feel RO nostalgia coming back!

Hi, Any news about immortal tanks ? eg. LIB_PzKpfwVI_E (tiger) even with slammer all 40 rounds can't do any damage to that tank...

Have the same issue with immortal tanks. The IFA3 Flight Mission 1 there is a target point with 3 tanks that cannot be damaged even with direct hits with multiple 500lb bombs from a P47.

We are aware of the issue, american trucks are still to be ported to physx.

 

Have the same issue with immortal tanks. The IFA3 Flight Mission 1 there is a target point with 3 tanks that cannot be damaged even with direct hits with multiple 500lb bombs from a P47.

 

Tanks will be progressively move out of former advanced damage system, which make them undestructible with current arma Arsenal. It's a pretty huge work to do.

 

 

Please notice and adjust : Fixed: Mosin Nagant rifles had sight issue - they were firing to high.

Iron Front game old issue with paralax of mosins, now you hit where you aim.

Looks like you're going to have to update your fantastic WarMod again!

Any chance that WarMod could include 2 versions?

1 for IFA3 Lite and another for IFA3 Full?

Because I'm thinking that with kju's recent efforts & its distribution via Steam Workshop, IFA3 Lite will soon become the most popular (if it isn't already).

BTW has the process of convert IFA2 Full to IFA3 Full been simplified?

Only thing needing update is all the new weapons, tanks, ect,. to be made compatible with lite version.

Plus i just rebuilt the thing this past week, and released a patch for it.

lol no, my tutorial is about as simplified and organized as your going to get, most people leave out important details for headache installations like this but i did the work for you,

Overall there is nothing simple about the Full IFA3 conversion process, and IFA3 lite is the reason why IFA3 full is not supported because the conversion process is a hit or miss, and if it does work then

theres a ton of shit you need to do and download in order to play with it, only thing simple about it is explaining it, basically it comes down to this:

  1. You must own the iron front game
  2. run the conversion tool
  3. download 3 other mods for compatibility/functionality with Arma3
  4. test, if the tests passes, patch
  5. apply the 4 patches 
  6. download the dark sky fix which kju and myself put together, without it all IF maps will have dark skies because their broke!
  7. after all that headache then make sure the load order is correct and play
  8. if you still feel you have enough brain power/energy left after doing all that then, and you want to play with IFA3WarMod then go for it, at least the weapons, tanks, and everything else for the assets aint broke with the full version.

In the future use the WarMod thread, why its there.

Gunter: thansk for ensuring that WarMod is compatible with IFA3 Lite. It must be frustrating to be on your 13th update already. But at least kju and Co are making good progress. With the demise of I44, IFA3 seems to be our best hope for WW2 outside of CSA38 & Westwall both of which seem more specialised (focused on specific theatres, rather than than wider fronts)

 

Thanks but I read that months after I bought IF.

I felt stupid because I bought the game precisely to support the devs and in the hope that it would receive some support in A3.

Thanks for all your hard work.

I really hope we'll see IFA3 mature and that it's success will encourage others to contribue and, develop SP & MP missions.

Who knows, maybe another publisher (2K Czech?) or even BI might want to try again commercialising a WW2 mod for Arma.

Or even just a realistic WW2 milsim FPS wtih coop, e.g. Hidden & Dangerous 3.

BTW do you know if IF was a commercial success?

If so, are there any good articles about this?

Nah, because most patches add new features, or fix something, and update existing mods, i rather enjoy it, it allows the mod to become more polished.

6 months ago Kju and team were working on IFA3 Lite, the whole conversion process has been abandoned for a better, optimized, simpler, and ideal way to play IFA3,

overall the conversion process hasn't changed since 2013 the same tool was and is still used for those that wish to use it, the tool is as simple as your going to get,

only thing complex is all the other stuff that is needed to play.

 

The future of IFA3 here will be a interesting surprise.

do you know if IF was a commercial success?

As far as I can tell it was pretty successful for the publisher, decent for X1 Software and not great at all for BI and AWAR.

Seems to be fixed some. Close proximity bomb hits do damage now. Direct hits right on or next to are instant kills.

I've found, what if set overcast 90-97% range, will be darker abit, but too brite, I wanted to be.

Beside that I'm not 100% sure what you mean (sorry  :unsure: ) I of course have tested other percentages aswell. 

The overcast on these terrains is really weird. You are right when you say, that between 90-97% its somewhat "darkish" but far of looking like an overcast. It more looks like the sky is grey instead of blue but the sunlight hitting the ground is quite the same. 

Another strange thing I discovered is: If you put the slider to 100% the sky is greyd out. If you then press Ok the sky changes again to a blue sky with some white and grey clouds.

 

Something is really fishy with the weather on the IF Terrains!
