ILBE Assault Pack with RT-1523G / TFAR

Recommended Posts

ILBE (Improved Load Bearing Equipment) is a United States Marine Corps program that included among other things a load carriage equipment. From that program I want to present the Assault Pack with the default TGAR RT-1523G(SINGCARS) radio. The aim of this small addon is to provide a fitting backpack radio for the RHS United States Marine Corps faction.

Hey,

I plan to add at least a Coyote colored version - maybe Ranger Green. Not sure about other camos tough since the backpack isn't really available in other colors and I'd like to stick to that. I do plan to add a version with assembled antenna tough http://i.imgur.com/ZdXAQPc.png.

Any chance you can just add this to the TFAR mod itself?

Looks great, and the above is awesome news.  :)

Does the extended antenna have any affect on functionality of the radio? anyways, regardless of function, perhaps you could add the ability to switch between the folded and extended antenna with ACE interact - would be a bit silly to be running around in a firefight (clipping issues in buildings?) with a 20 foot long antenna extended (but i suppose thats happens semi-often in reality)

Hmm, this is nice!

Please do add coyote, as an AD Infantryman in the Corps I've never seen a marpat day pack, only coyote heehhe.
I'm sure they exist, locked up in a warehouse somewhere but the normal folks don't get to see them :)

As for the antenna, from my limited experience (at least with a 117) we use a shorter whip antenna for VHF, and it stays folded up like 95% of the time. It looks like this http://www.satnews.com/images_upload/1023211128/ANPRC-117G.jpg, and it can be unfolded to be decently long, which is nice when we have to talk out farther. As others said, some interaction to extend it, with some dynamic range adjustments would be cool but isn't super critical.

Coyote is coming I just have to figure out how to implement ace interaction first before the next release.

As for the antenna: I decided to model the 80063 ASSY A3256529-1 heavily based on this picture.

In my research I've seen the antenna mostly completely folded or completely unfolded when used. The antenna is also used with a variety of manpacks which is also nice since I'd like to have the backpack for ACRE with the AN/PRC-117F as well.

What an awesome addition to the TFAR long range radios, I've always felt they seemed a bit empty with not enough variety.

Do you plan on releasing a UCP and OCP variant?

Also I downloaded the mod and at first sight I only noticed the 2 MARPAT variants and none of the plain ones you featured in post #11 are they still WIP? Or did I miss something?

TFAR also needs CBA

But the mod works fine for me. Best thing to do would be to delete them and redownload it (its only 16mb) and try again.
