It's the final run up to Christmas, for myself and I'm sure a lot of other people around here I'm sure we'll be busy over the next few days. In case I can't make it to the forums in the coming days I'd like to take this moment on behalf of the team, to wish the community and devs a very happy Christmas.

Personally I'd like a moment to thank my team who have done fantastic work and continue to do so as I speak. 2018 is shaping up to be a big year for this mod. Without them I'd be lost.

Also, I'd like to thank the community for their continued support. It's great to see the OFP spirit alive and well. And it helps us drive on. I'm confident we can deliver a mod to meet your expectations.

It's time for me to sign off and get some rest before my final two days of retail before Christmas.

As we say here in Ireland. "Nollaig Shona Daoibh", have a great Christmas everyone. We'll see you soon!

didn't see it searching the thread but are any plans to make an M-48A5? The upgraded Pattons served for quite awhile from what I've read

While the M48A5 is cool in its old school glory kinda way, the emphasis is on creating the essentials for the mod's team, and many of these must be scratch-made. Plus, if they were going to take additional releases into consideration, I'd prefer for the emphasis to be placed more on an M551 or M901-ITV hehe.

I completely agree with @REFORGER88 here.

Since the jets upgrade was deployed to Arma3 baseline the simulation and usage of guided missiles of any kind is working extremely well. So both vehicle choices would offer some great opportunities for scenarios and missions.

Especially when you're looking at playing with smaller player numbers:

A small tank-hunter detachment on any of those vehicles will surely be realistic and fun to play with. (If you don't mind not surviving it. :D)

Yeah, I feel both vehicles present some good opportunities for Armored Cavalry action. Plus, you wouldn't need to modify the base M113 too much  (I hope lol). And you get to experience the realistic dread of an Armored Cav crew wondering if their ATGMs can even penetrate the approaching Soviet tanks :D

specialist groups with M47 and Stinger Teams that are preconfigured for easier placement aren't a bad idea

Just found this thread .... insta follow, after East vs West mod died (and CSLA3 mod release data somewhere in infinity) I was hoping someone would pick up the OFP nostalgia.

Good luck and god speed! The screens all look very sweet.

PS/quick question: Are you guys going for simple OFP gameplay elements? Or would you adopt a more realistic approach to vehicles that were in OFP super-overpowered thanks to the 2001's way of implementing them by BIS? For example I like the RHS mods A-10A/SU-25 is indeed as it should be with (properly) limited sensors and launch warnings ....  the CUP's  current A-10C with blatantly eye-poking A-10A's interior and pure magic target searching is a bit ... well OFP-like "tab&space to kill all" :D. So easy to kill nostalgia with silliness ...

Thanks for the kind words :) I'm also looking forward to CSLA, they've done some amazing work so far.

To give the easiest answer to that question, we'll be trying to keep things as vanilla as possible. There may be some changes to some vehicles from reality, but we'll try not to go too far realistic or too far tab and shoot either

Not sure if this question has been asked already but are we going to see some authentic 1980s diving gear? ;)

Could open up some nice Black Op/Spetsnaz scenarios with a twist!

That's always a possibility. We briefly talked about underwater weapons etc but if they ever come to be, it'll be down the line after other things come first.

Doesn't look as crap as 58 pattern webbing and not as WW1/2 retro as something CW comblock.

Also a leg rig before 90's? CQB SF VBSS SAS something-something maybe? :dozingoff:

I'm not sure, but whatever it is definitely has to be special operations related.
