Can you use surfaceNormal to align the decals with the slope of the terrain?

Sort've -- I'll likely use one of the line intersection commands to get the normal of any surface (such as walls).

Looks great. It wonderful if you can integrate blood mist on bullet hits also. There was a blood mist mod by MAO but it doesn't work anymore.

One step closer to the proper gore that Arma should have, instead of those semi-transparent blood pools.

It works very well and I appreciate you taking the time to come up with this, one thing that I noticed was that it appears that it doesn't work for Ryan's zombie mod.

If you shoot/kill the zombie, there won't be a blood effect (probably realistically fine) however if the zombie attacks a player or NPC and kills them, there also won't be a blood effect.

Since you noted that your mod readme file that blood splatters are from gunshots then that would seem why this is happening so perhaps in the future you can add blood splatter effects from more sources such as physical hits (not sure what zombie melee attacks would be classified as) along with possible blunt trauma.

Thanks for your time.

Quick question Zooloo : how do you generate those splatters?

Do they disappear on their own after some time, or should mission makers keep an eye on the number of splatters and remove them via script?

Just making sure it's safe to use this on super long sessions with lots of things to kill. :)

Very nice, certainly adds to the realism. Some clarification around auto cleanup functionality over time would be helpful :)

Looks Nice, thanks for sharing :)

Tried it in the editor, but doesn't work for me and have this error message when starting any scenario :

No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches/BloodLust.units'.

Installed it the usual way with mods and start the mods with the Parameter line in the launcher...I also run Mao's Blood mist...As i'm not a pro, maybe i missed something?

Thanks.

Finally! Someone made a worthwhile blood mod! Looks great, can't wait to test in the evening.

Some questions:

  1. The dimensions of a blood splatter and its color / color mix depends on body's part hit, the angle and the caliber of a weapon? Any more variables into this?
  2. How do you handle grenades / other explosives or 50 .cal?
  3. Just a wish - but it'd be awesome to see red little clouds rising when a grenade or a mortar around explodes beneath a unit.

Thanks, and keep up the awesome work, man!

I just took the liberty to look into the code : splatters get replaced after a max number is reached, just like it's done in most games.

Nice job Zooloo. ;)

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Looks like I might have accidentally disabled some logging on my end, hence why I didn't see the configuration issues. I'll work on fixing up these issues today.

Afterwards, I'll be improving the splatter creation to (hopefully) align to any surface.

-Thanks

my only issue is that it is not client side, as it creates usertexture objects (learned this using ARES to pick up remains of units). Which sadly means it isnt a good idea to use on public servers that allow clientside mods as it may lag up the server
