Vilayer Arma 3 server

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow brothers and sisters.

I just bought myself a Arma 3 server.

Okay here is my OBJ:

I want to run this mission http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=27942 , which is insurgency.

I also want to run the mods which is required for the server, to run the mission (see above link).

Now i've done the following (which is what vilayer are telling in their guide)

1. Upload the mission file to my MPMission folder in the root of the server.
2. Upload the mods to the root folder.
3. Add the mods to the commandline to the server
-------------------------------------------------------------
The above steps are what Vilayer is telling me. And i'm not dumb, i'm just *biiip* retarded with server management. That aside, this gives me problems - And are as follows:

1. If i run the server with the above 3 steps simultaneously. It won't even show up on the server list!

2. If i remove the mods from the commandline (Running this with just the mission) I can get in on the server, but the mission or maps won't show in the mission list. It will just show the standard ones it comes with. - Right now i've removed the mission in the server cfg, because before i told the server to start with the mission from start "mission cycle part) - The server would show on the list, but when i joined it, it just got stuck at the loading screen with stratis in the background.

What am i doing wrong?

------------------------------------------------------------

Any brother that would help me out, i shall kiss you.

Virtually ofcourse.......

Sounds like the mods are not loading on the server.

So you've uploaded the required mods to the root directory of your server (same place arma3server.exe is located)?  Each has it's own @folder?  ie: @cba_a3  @alive etc?

Double check and make sure the @addon folders are in this format:  @alive\Addons\**all .pbo and .bisign files go in here**

Most providers use a control panel where you can change settings - there will be a mods section and you need to enter them like this:

-mod=@cba_a3;@alive;@other;@mods

Don't test using the server browser as it can take a while before your server appears.  Try to direct connect via IP address instead.

Failing that there are two excellent tutorials by Terox:

Looks OK from what I can tell.... try unchecking the -noLogs parameter and restart your server.  This will generate an .RPT file in the server's root directory.  Post that RPT file to pastebin and link back here.

Sorry it looks like the file is cut off... there should be more info at the start of the RPT file.  See the link below - notice the part at the top that shows your server params - this is what I'm looking for.

I see, i forgot to tick some of the boxes in parameters.

Now it starts like yours, but it doesnt go further, and the server won't show up on the serverlist. And won't show remote either.

Sorry was away over the weekend.  Can you try again and post the entire RPT file?  Or is that as far as it gets?

You could have a corrupt mod that is causing it (especially if vanilla works just fine) - if that is the case you'll need to delete and re-upload the mods.
