This mod adds something new to the trusty old map!

It allows the player to place an "unfolded" map in the world, so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of a map, even if someone doesn´t have one in his inventory!

 

Features:

  • Place an "unfolded" map in the world using the ACE_Self_Interact_Menu!
  • Open the map screen using "this" map!
  • See the map markers of the person who placed the map on the ground! Your markers will be less visible, so that you can distinguish between yours and the ones on the map!
    • Ability to copy these markers into your own map (Hover over target marker and press CTRL+C)!
  • Players can place the map on objects, for a more immersive feeling (With CUP | RHS support)!
  • Change the availability of ACE_Map_Gestures to only be usable on the unfolded map! (Set-able through  CBA_Settings)

  • Vanilla:
    • Desk
    • Camping Table (Normal and Small)
    • Wooden Table (Large and Small)
    • Rattan Table
    • Garden Table
    • Office Table (New and Old)
    • Whiteboard
    • Quadbike (Interaction on back!)

​​Following vehicles have the interaction on top of the Engine:

  • RHS:
    • HMMWV (All types)
    • UAZ (All types)
  • CUP:
    • HMMWV (All types)
    • UAZ (All types)

 

Planned:

  • Share your ace_flashlight!
  • Place map inside of vehicles!
  • If a map marker is created while in the map, create it for everyone who uses the same map!

Installation:

After unpacking the .zip-file into your ArmA 3 directory, all the files you need to use the mod should be inside the "Addons" folder!

If you want to use the compatibility pbos´, you have to move them from the "Optional" folder to the "Addons" folder!

I've got a question , does the map have need to be copied in game by the others players to have the different markers and line drawn with the ACE tools ?

Sorry if it's not clear.

The only function at the moment is the ability to share the map as an object, not the content itself! That's something I'm working on!

If you want to share Intel, I would suggest the Map-Gestures feature of ACE for the time being!

I see , but it would be cool for a briefing but it will be hard for you to sync the map in real time. Maybe with an auto copy option of the mod every 1sec or maybe something like that

Hey, first of thank you very much for this mod... It adds a very nice touch to the game!! 

 

I do have a problem though..

 

Your signature and key do not work on a dedi server with sig. verification.   I had to repack and resign the mod to get to use it on my server. 

 

If you have the time can you look into it.

Strange, my key did not work either.

I have replaced the Key with a new one and re-signed the pbo! Should now work correctly!

It is compatible with every terrain, but you will only see the map of Altis on the ground (for Stratis the corresponding map)! That's because the terrains don't add map objects like the ones I use!

How does one go about placing the map on the RHS Humvee, is it by the vehicles interaction point? If so I can't actually seem to get any interaction point.

First:

Are you sure you loaded the r_unfold_rhs.pbo?

Addons folder should look like this if you use the optional pbos´:

Second:

The Interaction point is located on the front of the HMMWV, on top of the engine!

Third:

Yeah, have to find a way to show people where to find the interactions, or how to use the mod in general! Maybe a new video! (Unfortunately not the best in video editing :/ )

Hurpa durr, I didn't realize there was an optional PBO.
