Eden: Zeus mission does not work

Hi,

I have noticed that Zeus missions which are created with the Eden editor do not work.

For testing purpose i created a mission with just with following objects.

 

- Gameplay mode - Gamemaster

- Zeus - Gamemaster

- Virtual Entitie - Zeus

Everytime when I want to start the mission as multiplayer there is just this error:

When I click on continue the mission stops with the end screen:

I am using no mods and I am on the normal release version in Steam.

It would be nice if someone could look if the same happens for him.

Just create a little test mission with Zeus in Eden.

Then click on the option "Play" on the top and chose "Play in Multiplayer (MP)".

That is the normal briefing screen... you cant see the map because your character has no one... you must press "Continue"...

Also you need a unit... as player defined... only logics is not possible....

 

Here is a tutorial... is 2D editor but same in Eden.. place unit make playable and connect to game master module...

Yes, because no unit is left.... you have no unit in your mission... only logics... you must control a unit ;D

 

Edit: the default respawn template in eden ist mission lost if all dead... so that append in your mission

Edit2: create a bluefor unit name this unit master. set attribute of game master (zeus) logic as owner master.... so now the bluefor unit is the owner of the logic zeus ;D

No, you can control just a virtual Zeus.

We do do this for over 2 years now in my community to build live Zeus events.

Only with a virtual Zeus the "Zeus Player" is able to use TFAR at the position where he currently has his camera.

Now after importing the mission into eden it does not work anymore.

 

The default respawn is removed.

 

Also tested with latest dev version: 134675

Definitely a problem that we have too. Placing a VirtualEntity - Zeus and syncing or setting ownership for the gamemastermodule used to work but now it doesn't. Giving the gamemaster a playable character will lead to problems with tfar as described by meiestrix. Our missions are all build this way which makes EDEN complete useless at the moment because we have to build our missions with the old editor :(

 

Yesterday I had do convert a mission to the old sqm format to make it work, but converting looses all player/playable states, markers and other stuff like virtual entities...

I have the same problem here, just imported fine working mission with 5 zeus virtual entities and mission either will not load on dedicated server or zeus will spawn as a bird.

i see a bunch of old threads about this issue and see the devs saying they're working on it, but as far as i can see, the issue still persists a year later. Any update on this, it's really annoying to not have the option to place a virtual entity for zeus
