rafal007111 11 Posted May 17, 2016 Hey, i just increased my ram memory from 8 gb to 16, and found that thread. I was negatively supprised how bratwurste is threated and there is no react from Moderators. But more suprissed was resoult of using new ram. There was no gain in FPS UNTILL i increased pagefile to manually size 800BM-24GB. Now space on my C drive is free in large procent and game runs much better. Also i use new performance EXE from Dwarden and its available in public. I use system memory allcoator and game runs very steady now - its 25-55 FPS - when its mostly quiet and enemy isnt aware its 55 fps (!) when big heat is coming up it falls down sometimes to 20 FPS, but mostly 25 is keeped... EVEN IN THE CITIES. Its great resoult for me. same upgrade, same problem, different system (w10 x64) 16gb ram maxmem to 12gb and system pagefile switched off. I'm sure this is not a fault of mods or mission, because we tested with and without mods, even if i exit mission and go to empty editor - same fps, only thing that helps is reboot arma and back to server. :( btw. tested with performance binary v5 and v6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ceeeb 147 Posted May 20, 2016 I'm testing my new PC and have had good increase in FPS from increasing RAM speed. All tests use the same Arma settings and Nvidia 970 GTX. Old system for reference, Windows 7: Intel I7 950 @ 3.85GHz, 6GB DDR3 @ 1750 CL7 -> YAAB 30 FPS New system, Windows 10: Intel I7 6700k @ 4.2GHz, 32GB DDR4 @ 2133 CL15 Default -> YAAB 41 FPS Intel I7 6700k @ 4.5GHz, 32GB DDR4 @ 3200 CL14 XMP -> YAAB 50 FPS I was a bit underwhelmed by the first test at default speeds, but bumping the RAM up to it's rated speed and increasing CPU speed by 7% has provided ~25% higher FPS. St. Jimmy 272 Posted May 20, 2016 Yeah the default DDR4 setting is pretty low. CL15 2133 is probably somewhere around where the normal DDR3 1333-1600 kits are (if not worse). Nice results and performance increase. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

damsous 329 Posted June 17, 2016 If you using Fred41 tbbmalloc you need to enable the lock pages in memory option... gpedit.msc.... be careful if you do not have a pro version of windows you need to download a add_gpedit_msc.... using Fred41 tbbmalloc without this step will do nothing better. With the lock pages enabled+Fred41 tbbmalloc+12 Go pagefile and Maxmem set on 10000 Mb (in arma launcher) i get 20-25 fps on a map with +400 IA.... VBS 2 2.0 (arma2) have a 64 Bit version, you just give a 32 Bits version for the people for sell a 64 Bits version (VBS) around 3000 Dollars... Who is taking over the forum about performance issues on Arma like Arma work a lot with the CPU.... you should get an intel CPU for play this game blablabla.... like this the people watch the wrong way for the performance issues. The true, the performance issues on Arma it's the management of the memory and the only way to solve this its set the game on 64 bits version. So 32 bit version and optimise the game only for Intel its just a question of money.... and sell an Xpack TANOA 40 dollars for 1 island and few vehicle its a joke and a trap for the wasteland, altis life gamers....
