[WIP] Map Ruegen (Germany, Baltic Sea)

Hello, 

 

i will inform you, that i work at a new Map since january 2015. 

I build a part of the isle Rügen in germany. I placed all roads at the exact original position, so that you can navigate around the map with real roadmaps.
More than 200 Models are build to made the map more realistic. 


Some Facts:
Region: Rügen, Germany

Size:      25 x 25 km Terrain

Models: More than 200 new models

Map:     100% original roadmap

             100% original towns and citys

Nice to see this here. I know its for Dayz primarily, but I use Sauerland for A2 and enjoy it (plus the winter version). Some nice area to use and a very good terrain.

I'll give this a look too when your more complete. Good luck with progress and thanks for letting the forum know about your WIP.

Rugen.. I think PMC has a Rugen terrain, I have it somewhere on a HDD.

Yes, PMC has made a rügen map, but more than 900 km² Land and the same size of the sea compressed to fit into 25x25 km.

 

I made only a small pice of rügen. My Towns, roads, woods, water and all other things placed at exatct positions.

I downloaded the terrain. Its very detailed and really well done. I've enjoyed the parts I've seen, which is only a small part so far.

Didn't see any fuel stations so far, just wondered are there many on the terrain ?

 

Thanks for releasing it and your very detailed work. Its going to be a really nice terrain to use for A2. :)

Fuelstations are in the citys Bergen, Putbus and Binz. Fueltanks are around the map. :)

Please, place more enterable buildings!

 

There are a lot of new enterable buildings made. Restaurants, a police station, POIs, shops  and much more.

Very detailed map indeed. One thing that should be revised is some titles from sat images left on ground textures.

yes, i know. Its only the workingtexture to place roads, buildings and wood exactly at the original position. In the final will be a new groundtexture.

Rügen is 90% finished and i hope to release the alpha at May 01, 2016.

The following picture shows the build status and how many towns/villages will be implemented.

Awesome map Falconsan. If Sauerland and Celle were to have a baby, it's name would be Ruegen !

 

I was just playing on the pve Overpoch server, and took afew screenies of some minor issues, before I totally forgot and just explored the map in awe !!

Whomever made the Epoch Traders for your map seems to have only utilized the northern part of the map. Kind of a shame. But the full map IS way too big for Epoch

 

I didn't embed the image, because it's like 7000 pixels tall. Here's a link.

Also, the map is listed on Dayz Launcher, but there is no download option for it !! (not your fault I know)

The one server that there is, DZL loads incorrectly as just basic Overpoch. So you have to load it manually in this order

 

-MODS=@DayzRuegen;@DayzOverwatch;@DayZ_Epoch

 

@DayzRuegen was just my choice of name. There is no folder name in your download (haven't tried Armaholic link) and obviously DZL is no help here.

thanx for your replay.

 

i don't know, where the buildings at the end of the airstrips comes from. There is no building set in the Editor.

 

The "cracks" between some roadtiles are not my fault. The roadpainter V2.0 have made this cracks. All cracks to fix will be a lifetimework.

 

All other issues will be fixed with the next Patch in aprox. 2 Weeks.

Did development on the Arma 2 map stop with the version that came with Epoch 1062?

 

Do you have any plans to complete it for DayZ SA? It would be a shame to let this gem of a map disappear.
