thanks for the comments and ideas : )

 

- pilot/student/formation scripts: that's not my expertise

- attach things: same, but there are scripts to download I think. Check armaholic.

- smoke markers: interesting. I might give that a try.

 

If you want to use it as a trainer that is fine, someone else might use it for some 50s/60s era mission or something else.

yea i forgot to delete that hook : D

 

Currently the plane is using airplaneX simulation. This is not compatible with landing on objects like carriers.

I might make a dedicated carrier version sometime depending how much work it is to make the plane/  the hook work with the carrier(s?).

 

If that fails:

With the current massive drag on fully extended flaps acting as speed break you probably woulnd't even need a

hook and a change to the old airplane simulation mode might be enough

 

Since the Nimitz has such good documentation:

so probably in next update, whenever that is : )

- carrier enabled version
- rvmat update
- engine failure, push and fire scripts

now requires the Aircraft Library!

 

 

 

 

 

why the library : ) ?

because of these features:

 

 

?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-forma

When the plane has less than 50% hp the engine may shut down for a few seconds

 

?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-forma

Plane will catch fire if it is very badly damaged (<15% hp)

 

?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-forma

you can now turn and push the plane around, very nice for carrier operations

I do really like this aircraft because when put up against normal ground forces it just feels more balanced compared to the other aircraft. Because the 4 .50 cals will wreck or disable a lot of vehicles but they have to be aimed pretty well and hit a good number of times. Well the rockets and bombs have the same feel, they are destructive but wont allow you to wipe out an entire force with ease. The planes fly pretty well and in dog fighting AI was fun, only complaint though criticism would be the textures inside the cockpit. They feel dull and unpolished, which isn't to big of an issue but with the coming arma 3 graphic update the interior will look very off and outdated. Oh also almost forgot but if I remember right the crosshair on the cockpit hud is off center, I think it was aiming more left than it should be.

Could we get these planes for Opfor/Other?  To make sure they are used with ease by everybody....In Zeus.

thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Yes support works fine, dogfighting is still a bit hard as it loses a lot of speed in tight turns. I am still trying to fix that.

Updating the cockpit. maybe someday. that would be a huge project.

there are IND and OPF planes. If you have an addon enabled zeus mission they should show up

You can re-arm it with anything you want.

Just use commands like these:  this removallweapons, this addweapon xy, this addmagazine xy etc : )
