[IceBreakr/IBIS] Isla Abramia for A3

Okay, more of a question for the original author ;)

 

anyhow, 1.3 is almost done - changelog so far:

 

- beach and terrain improvements
- fixed white lines bug on asphalt roads
- clutter is now working and is compatible with all other islands
- added snowman on Mt. Rooker ;)
- added snow clutter
- various fixes
 
Anything else I can add today?

Just wanted to say- Thank you for this terrain! Already, I have tons of ideas for missions here, but so far I've been content to just fly around, treating it like my own, personal mach loop.

And I'm sure the low-altitude, supersonic passes early in the morning are winning hearts and minds with the locals. :D

Not really, sounds like a good bit of changes to check out.

New stuff from today, release of 1.3 imminent.

 

- improved distance middle texture

- improved satellite image of Isla Blanco

- runway in Yolandi is now properly lit during night-time

- removed snow spots in wierd places

Could you adjust the runway designation for Yolandi's airport? Planes flying with AI or ILS seem to always crash on approach, and UAVs constantly abort landing

Could possibly also designate the other runways? (so the AI can land on them)

 

Apart from this minor issue, this is a damn good terrain. Really good work as always. :)

is anyone else have clutter issues not showing if you are over 10-15 meter away? it happens on grass and again on snow .

Ya noticed the same. Can make flying and being distant look very 'bland' and OFP like.

Yes bland and no clutter from anything above 15m I would say maybe less, icebreakr Is this normal behavior for early still in development map? I don't experience this behavior on any other map !

Also there is a random not enter-able house placed in a weird spot inside the castle shown in the above picture. I would totally play on this map if the placement of buildings and object is cleaned up rather than placed randomly , I really think this has the potential to be amazing, PM me if I can be of assistance.

Hey Icebreaker , any update as to when this map will be finished? we really like it, but i am not sure if we should hang around waiting for it to be done, I know its a lot of work but I wonder if you can tell us how long you estimate it to be at playable state, we can't get any interest in the map due to number of issues but maily the terrain clutter and object placed out of position or glitched in number of places. Thank you for any work you are doing on this map

Dude, forum etiquette (THE RULES) state you should not ask "are we there yet".  I am certain that Ice is sitting on the maps and purposely not releasing them for another 6 months just because!

@icebreakr - you probably already know this by now, but the Arma 1.60 update with the new lighting engine has messed up the skies on every mod map. CUP rolled out a full update today to patch their maps, but the fix appears to be on a map by map basis, so it looks like your maps need updating. But you probably knew that.

Yep latest one, 1.3, not able to view terrain grass detail about 10-15 meter radius, read the other guy's comment, I am not the only one having this issue, about objects miss placed, I mean buildings that are floating, and rocks that look strange (see the picture I attached) its on one of the new islands right by the castle, the castle has a random house inside shoved inside a castle not sure if this was miss placed or part of the design, let me know if you need any more clarification!

The weird Acid looking clouds are caused by Arma's latest update, Icebreakr just needs to change some values to fix it!
