lexx 1331 Posted January 12, 2016 Anyone knows if it's possible to steal a tank or IFV in the campaign and bring it back to the hub? I know that you can get your hands on a tank in Bingo Fuel-- but can you also keep it? Alternatively, is it possible to steal something that size in the patrol missions? lexx 1331 Posted January 12, 2016 Well, that sucks. The first few times playing the campaign it didn't really bother me, but now I wonder-- why? I think it's not consistent if you can capture tanks and repair vehicles in the main missions, but suddenly can't in the patrol / side missions.
Wiki 1558 Posted January 12, 2016 Well, as you're just an infantry guy, being able to take a tank or a chopper later in the camp isn't that realistic either.
lexx 1331 Posted January 12, 2016 It's not about realism. We are still playing a game. I can drive any car and in main missions I can drive tanks- so it actually makes sense that I can do the same in the skirmish missions (repair trucks don't seem to work there either, btw - I found at least one and couldn't use it to fix the broken wheel of my car). drebin052 323 Posted January 13, 2016 All armoured vehicles with the exception of some civilian cars, trucks, and the numerous ATVs that you encounter during scouting are locked by script so you can't drive off with them back to the base camp in the first place. Stealing larger vehicles is redundant anyway since you wouldn't even be able to deploy them on the storyline missions. They only serve as carriers for hauling the guns and ammo that you find from the side missions back to base since they can store a lot more than the offroads or quadbikes. Like from the smuggler hideout near Syrta; what would usually take you 2-3 trips to take everything can be done in one trip instead with a Zamak.
